• Taylor Frankie Paul reportedly had a “meltdown” and “stormed off” The Bachelorette set.
  • The incident occurred after her dad, Casey Hux, brought up her 2023 domestic incident with Dakota Mortensen.
  • Leaked footage from the incident caused ABC to cancel her season.

ABC cancelled The Bachelorette after TMZ released a video of a 2023 domestic incident between Taylor Frankie Paul and her ex, Dakota Mortensen. And apparently said incident was brought up on the show, and caused Taylor to storm off set.

According to TMZ, contestant Casey Hux brought up Taylor’s arrest during a one-on-one date, and she had “a full-fledged meltdown” and “stormed off the set.” Apparently he brought it up because he wanted to know “what, if anything, Taylor learned from the experience and how she'd grown from it.”

Footage from the incident is what prompted ABC to cancel Taylor’s season, and a Disney Entertainment Television spokesperson said “In light of the newly released video just surfaced today, we have made the decision to not move forward with the new season of The Bachelorette at this time, and our focus is on supporting the family.”

Meanwhile, Taylor’s rep told Variety, “Taylor is very grateful for ABC’s support as she prioritizes her family’s safety and security. After years of silently suffering extensive mental and physical abuse as well as threats of retaliation, Taylor is finally gaining the strength to face her accuser and taking steps to ensure that she and her children are protected from any further harm. There are too many women who are suffering in silence as they survive aggressive, jealous ex-partners who refuse to let them move on with their lives. Taylor has remained silent out of fear of further abuse, retaliation, and public shaming. She is currently exploring all of her options, seeking support, and preparing to own and share her story.”
