Merry Vecnamas! Netflix was obviously in a very giving mood as they dropped three new episodes of Stranger Things 5 to keep us going after dropping right before Thanksgiving. However, the one thing we definitely did not expect was how much we were going to yell at our TVs over Jonathan and Nancy. Down in the Upside Down, they got into some unexpected trouble as they attempted to figure out how to escape from a wild trap. So did they die? And what happened to them?

So, wait, did Nancy and Jonathan die in Stranger Things 5?
No, thankfully they did not. While they certainly in some major danger as the room that they were trapped in melted all around them, after Jonathan's un-proposal to Nancy, the melting stopped giving them some solid ground to walk on. Thankfully, they were able to make it out alive thanks to the help of Dustin and Steve who manage to kick down a hole in the wall big enough to save them.
Okay, so are Jonathan and Nancy still together after that proposal?
If you're wondering whether or not Jonathan and Nancy are still dating after their big confessions and non-proposal, the Duffer Brothers finally revealed their answer.
"That's a breakup," Matt Duffer told People. "They are broken up. It's hard to recall when exactly that idea came, but I think us — and the writers — all felt that Nancy needed to end up on her own and be independent and have an opportunity to find herself."
Of course, there's still the finale left, so anything can really happen. But, for now, it seems like while this couple made it out alive, this might be the end of Jancy!
