- Meghan Markle’s With Love, Meghan: Holiday Celebration special hit Netflix on Wednesday, Dec. 3.
- Upon watching, fans noticed a major continuity error.
- The error might reveal when the holiday special was actually filmed.
Meghan Markle has officially made her way back to our TV screens. While the Duchess of Sussex is slowly making her return to acting, she also took some time to film a special for her Netflix series, With Love, Meghan: Holiday Celebration. Of course, the latest edition has a Christmas spin, as she adorns her home with festive decorations and makes meals inspired by the season.
Upon watching the new episode, fans noticed a major continuity error. In the first half, Meghan placed a sentimental ornament on her Christmas tree, which was heavily implied to be a tribute to her pup, Guy, who passed away in January 2025.
However, Guy appears to be following her around the kitchen as she prepares brunch for her friends, Kelly Zajfen and Lindsay Roth, later in the episode. While some fans pointed out that it could potentially be her other beagle, Mia, it seems like she refers to the pup as “my darling Guy.”
While the sequence might not make sense in that order, the error reveals that the special was likely filmed late last year, ahead of Guy’s passing. According to People, the first season of With Love, Meghan aired in March 2025 and ended with a dedication, which read, “In loving memory of Guy.”
In January, Meghan mourned the loss of her rescue dog with a lengthy Instagram post, and shared that he would make an appearance in her Netflix series.
“In 2015, I adopted a beagle from a dog rescue in Canada. He had been at a kill shelter in Kentucky and given a few days to live. I swooped him up….and fell in love,” she wrote, in part, before adding, “Because many of you will now see Guy in this new series, I hope you’ll come to understand why I am so devastated by his loss. I think you may fall a little bit in love too.”
