• Brooke Burke has a long history with Dancing With the Stars, having won the reality competition series alongside Derek Hough in 2008.
  • She also co-hosted the show with Tom Bergeron from seasons 10 to 17, until she left in 2014.
  • Now, Brooke has revealed that she won’t be coming back for DWTS’ 20th anniversary special, which airs on Nov. 11.

Brooke Burke’s days in the Dancing With the Stars ballroom are long gone.

The TV personality recently revealed she won’t be returning for the reality competition series’ 20th anniversary, which is set to hit ABC on November 11. During an interview on former contestant Jennie Garth’s I Choose Me podcast, Brooke admitted that while her time on the show was fruitful, she’s closing that chapter in her life.

“A redo is hard for me,” Brooke told Jennie on the November 4 episode of her pod. “I guess there’s some things that are worth a repeat in your life, but I feel like I wrung it out, and I did everything I needed to do on that show.”

Of course, Brooke was referring to her long history with the show, as she won the mirrorball trophy alongside current judge Derek Hough in 2007 and co-hosted the show with Tom Bergeron for seven seasons until her exit in 2014.

She shared that she built “amazing relationships” in that time, adding, “It was one of the most watched shows on television. It would be hard to go back there with the same level of excitement and appreciation.”

Jennie, who competed on DWTS in 2007, revealed she had also received an invitation to the special that she “purposely did not read.”

“I never say no, never closed doors professionally, but I mean, it was eight seasons, and I did everything I needed to do in the ballroom,” Brooke continued, sharing that she “had so much fun” during her time on the show, despite it being “one of the hardest things I’ve ever done in my entire life.”

Though Brooke and Jennie won’t be in attendance, the Dancing With the Stars 20th anniversary special is reportedly bringing back familiar faces from past seasons, including six pro dancers who will perform a group number.
