Ali and Anton

Status: Broken Up

Ali and Anton, both 29, were one of the first couples to get engaged in the pods after discovering that they have a lot in common. They were both hoping to find someone who they could be their authentic selves with, and it looks like they found it in each other as Ali spoke confidently about her Brazilian heritage and Anton revealed that he was born in Russia and has Russian, Italian, and Burmese heritage.

When they finally met face-to-face, the attraction was definitely there, as Anton showered his fiancée with compliments. While on the couples' retreat, the duo explored the physical side of their relationship and seemed to have no issues—except from Ali being a little creeped out by Anton kissing with his eyes open.

They were also one of the only couples not to get into a fight in paradise, but things shifted when they got back to Denver. While they haven't had any major issues yet, it's clear that Ali is put off by Anton's drinking, and she was shaken after learning that he had a habit of getting drunk and going to strip clubs with his best friend just six months earlier.

Leading up to the wedding, Ali had some concerns about Anton's drinking, but after a tense discussion, apparently dropped the issue. (Perhaps because of Anton's insistence on “traditional” family roles?) They also met each other's mothers, who gave their blessings. But not all family members are on board.

What happened at the wedding: Anton and Ali seemed pretty solid leading up to their wedding day, but it seems that after talking to her not-so-supportive sister, Ali decided not to go through with the wedding. Anton said yes, but Ali couldn't commit because she wasn't comfortable with his “lifestyle” and felt he had misrepresented himself in the pods.

Madison and Joe

Status: Broken up

Madison, 28, and Joe, 29, hit it off from the get-go, and even as things got serious they continued to choose one another. In episode two, Madison revealed that she has a degenerative eye condition that could lead to blindness, and Joe reassured her that this didn't change how he sees her. He also opened up about his past engagement that didn't work out.

It was a little awkward when they met in person. Joe was very agitated, but insisted that he is attracted to Madison. He later admitted that she isn't he usual type, but said that the physical attraction could grow.

The pair hit a bump in the road in Mexico following the couples' meet up, which saw Joe having a little bit too much fun resulting in him leaving early to sleep it off. Madison, already concerned about Joe's feelings as he never seemed to say “I love you,” later returned to speak to Joe but they ended up having a huge argument. In the end, Madison kicked Joe out of the room for the night, but the two made up the following morning.

Ahead of their return to Denver, Madison told some of the other girls that she and Joe were having great sex and working through their issues, but things didn't immediately get better once they got back in Colorado.

One night over dinner, Joe expressed fears about their impending wedding and asked Madison why she wasn't also freaked out. Madison took this to mean that Joe wasn't as invested or ready for marriage as she was, and they got so frustrated with each other that Madison took off her ring. They ended up making up and even met each other's families, but trying on tuxes for his impending nuptials was the breaking point for Joe. He walked out of the fitting and promptly broke things off with Madison.

Madison was heartbroken, but Joe was decided: Madison just isn't the one for him.

Kalybriah and Edmond

Status: Broken up

From their first date in the pods, Edmond, 29, had Kalybriah, 29, feeling all giddy. Things got deeper between them when Edmond opened up to Kalybriah, who is a social worker, about growing up in the care system. As Edmond is a realtor, she said that he could help her with an idea she had to get into social housing. Kalybriah also spoke about how she finally forgave her father for not being present in life.

Their relationship only got sweeter when they met in person, with Edmond surprising her with a gift on holiday: a pair of sneakers to match his.

Things took a turn, however, when Kalybriah asked how he'd deal with another man trying to chat her up in public. She wasn't impressed with his response as she's looking for a provider and someone who can stand up with her, but Edmond doesn't like confrontation. And when Edmond learned that they were the only couple who hadn't been intimate yet, he questioned Kalybriah's true feelings.

Edmond later apologized and Kalybriah decided to move past it together, but his insecurities came up again during the pod squad reunion in Denver, where they reunited with other couples and singles who were in the pods with them. At one point, Edmond overheard Annie tell Nick he was perfect and made a comment about how it “must be nice” to receive such a compliment. Kalybriah confronted him, and he accused her of not giving him enough positive reinforcement.

He continued to complain, but Kalybriah wasn't having it, and she got even more frustrated after he tried to dismiss her by saying how much he loved her. Eventually, she walked away and ignored his attempts smooth things over. This cycle continued in the next batch of episodes: Edmond says something passive aggressive, Kalybriah gets frustrated, Edmond tries to laugh it off, Kalybriah gets more angry, etc.

What happened at the wedding: Edmond said yes, but Kalybriah couldn't commit to marriage. She told Edmond that she loved him and that he'll always be a big part of her journey, but they weren't right for each other. Edmond was heartbroken, and Kalybriah felt guilty for leaving him, but it had to be done.

Annie and Nick

Status: Broken up

Annie, 31, and Nick, 28, both had other connections in the pods. Brenden was Annie's No.1 pick and Nick had already told Kait that he's "in love" with her. However, after bonding over their desire to raise their children in a Christian household, Annie and Nick realized they could see a real future together.

They got engaged and on the retreat, it was clear they were into each other as the kisses kept on coming. Unfortunately, they ended their time in Mexico with some miscommunication after hearing about the other couples' fights left Annie anxious. She wanted Nick to know that she wanted to be with him, but didn't need himwhich she meant as a way of declaring her intense desire for him, but he seemed to take as her dismissing him.

Miscommunication aside, once they returned to Denver, Annie and Nick seemed great. She loved his home in the mountains and Nick seemed willing to compromise on living in the city part time. And then they reunited with the Pod Squad. Nick had a heart to heart with Kait, but seemed happy with his choice. Still, it seems like that interaction might plant a seed of doubt for Annie. Well, that and the fact that everyone else at the party was talking about how they don't like Nick.

After the party, Annie was in her feelings and demanded more reassurance from Nick, but no matter how many times he told her that he loved her, she just didn't seem to believe it. In the end, it was too much for Nick and he ended it.

Megan and Jordan

Status: Broken up

Megan, 35, wasn't sure about Jordan, 30, in the beginning. She thought of putting him in the friend zone to focus on her other connections with Blake and Mike, but as their conversations continued she realized that she might like him more than she initially thought. And when she found out that Jordan's son has Type 1 diabetes just like her late father, she wondered if their connection was meant to be.

She decided to give Jordan all her attention after Blake ghosted her and she figured that Mike is too much like the other men she's dated.

Jordan and Megan ended up getting engaged and when they arrived in Mexico it was clear the physical connection was there. She did get annoyed by his constant joking during the couples' meet up, however. Still, the two made it back home with their engagement intact, despite Megan's fears about having a 5-year-old stepson.

Megan met Jordan's ex off-camera and told the other girls that she would also get to meet Jordan's son off-camera before the wedding. Meanwhile, Jordan met Megan's mom and sister, who absolutely adored him.

All seems to be going well, but there are some pretty obvious differences in how they view their lives going forward. Megan's love language is gift giving, something that seems to make Jordan a little uncomfortable. Megan wants a big house, but Jordan is currently living in a one bedroom apartment with his son.

Their different lifestyles continued to be an issue for them in episodes 10 and 11. Despite greatly enjoying each other, Megan and Jordan have very different personalities. Jordan doesn't want to talk about his work, or seemingly make any efforts to have conversations with Megan when he's tired—which is a lot because he has a 5-year-old son. Megan, however, needs more.

The cracks are beginning to show, but it does look like Megan and Jordan really do care for each other. And a successful first night with Jordan's son (off-camera) gave both of them a boost of confidence.

What happened at the wedding: Sadly, Megan and Jordan never made it to their wedding. After her Bachelorette party, Megan summoned Jordan for a chat to break things off. She just couldn't see their lifestyles meshing in the long run. Jordan didn't agree, but he accepted her decision, telling the cameras later that his only regret was introducing her to his son.

Kacie and Patrick

Status: Broken up

In the pods, Patrick, 31, found connections with both Anna, 28, and Kacie, 34. He appeared to have a stronger connection with Anna, but she ghosted him in the pods and left the experiment without saying bye.

Determined to find love, Patrick continued getting to know Kacie and the pair got engaged. However, things went downhill after they met. While their first meeting went well, Kacie started to question whether she'd made the right decision. They decided to meet up and Kacie told Patrick that she'd be leaving the experiment, but not because she doesn't find him attractive. They both chose to leave, with the hope of continuing things back in Denver.

Of course, that's not the end of the story. Kacie and Patrick never dated outside of the show. In fact, according to Patrick's retelling in episode 9, he tried to meet up with Kacie in person once they had returned to Denver, but she said she wasn't ready. When he pushed her, she apparently told him to tell everyone else that they were broken up. And given what they've said in the press, it's safe to say this couple is officially over for good.

Love Is Blind is available to stream on Netflix.
