Ever since the official Dancing with the Stars season 34 cast was officially announced on Good Morning America, contestants and their pros have been in rehearsals, working on their first ballroom dances of the season. Well, most of them have been. Corey Feldman and Jenna Johnson reunited for their first rehearsal on Monday, Sept. 8—just 24 hours after Jenna admitted she hadn’t seen her DWTS partner since GMA.
Jenna made the surprising claim in an Instagram Story on Saturday—which is three days of precious rehearsal time after the GMA announcement, for the record. “So many people have been like, ‘Where are your TikToks with Corey? What’s happening?’” she said, per Us Weekly. “To be completely honest, I actually haven’t seen him since Good Morning America.”
Before you jump to conclusions, according to Jenna, Corey didn’t just leave her hanging. He had prior work commitments and “personal stuff going on,” which kept him away from the dance studio.
Soon after reports of Corey being absent from DWTS rehearsals went viral, Jenna had another update: Corey returned! The reigning champ (Jenna won the Mirrorball last season with former Bachelor Joey Graziadei) and the ’80s star reunited for rehearsals, and—of course—a little TikTok recording.
Jenna also shared a cute mirror selfie of the duo on her Instagram Stories, writing, “Omg, we’re back!!!!”
Corey is less active on social media and has yet to post, but speaking to Us Weekly after the casting announcement, he made it clear he’s more than excited to learn from Jenna this season.
“I’m very grateful that I have somebody so eloquent when it comes to the dance floor, and knowing everything, the moves, the rhythms, the styles, [and] the technique,” he said. “She’s the reigning queen, so I’m very grateful that I was lucky enough to land her as my partner.”
They may be a little late to start rehearsals, but Corey and Jenna still have a full week before the DWTS season 34 premiere on Wednesday, Sept. 16.
