Love Island USA is over and now we can all collectively turn our attention to yet another important love triangle in our lives: Belly, Jeremiah, and Conrad.

The Summer I Turned Pretty just dropped Season 3 on Amazon Prime, and—so far—things are looking up for Team Jeremiah. He and Belly are engaged following a brief breakup, but Belly's nostalgic love for Conrad is constantly lurking in the shadows, and at this point we truly don't know who she's going to pick. However, there is the helpful fact that this show has source material. So...

After Belly and Jeremiah get engaged, they start wedding planning! But there's one problem: Jeremiah cheated on Belly while they were on a break (kay, technically it wasn't cheating because of said break—but he still lied about it), and on top of that, Belly's holding a candle for Conrad.

Meanwhile, Conrad has finally come to terms with his feelings for Belly, and declares his love for her (wow, brother of the year) pretty much right before her wedding.

While Belly rejects Conrad with a brutal "you and I were never anything," Jeremiah asks Belly if she's in love with Conrad literally on the morning of their wedding. And she gives a devastating one-word response: "Yes." Not exactly a surprise that Belly and Jeremiah break up for good at this point, but does she end up with Conrad?

Yep! The book's final chapter (which is set "a couple of years later") reveals that Belly and Conrad start dating after college, and eventually get married. Oh, and Jeremiah attends their wedding...with a date!

So, Will the Show End the Same Way as the Book?

The verdict is still out, but there are definitely some changes afoot that could potentially impact the ending. For starters, author and showrunner Jenny Han told Entertainment Weekly that "There are surprises. And there are things that aren't exactly like the books."

She also hinted that Belly might not choose...anyone, telling Wild Card with Rachel Martin "Well, she doesn’t. I don’t think she has to choose one."

Meanwhile, Gavin Casalegno said of Jeremiah's ending, "It was fun, especially on my side of things, seeing how much the character grew throughout the season and how you could really see the maturity in the decisions towards the end of the series. So the final scenes were kind of a nice, happy button for Jeremiah—at least, I hope that people watching feel that way."

Point is: it sounds like things could go either way. So as a card-carrying member of Team Jeremiah, I'm holding out hope.
