The Rehearsal on HBO Max is probably one of the most ridiculously unhinged, impeccably produced, and outrageously hilarious shows to ever exist in television history—and I am absolutely obsessed. Nathan Fielder's twisted, comedic genius comes out brilliantly on the docu-comedy series which he's created to give real people the opportunity to prepare for some of the biggest events in their lives by helping them rehearse these scenarios with hired actors, experts, and incredibly detailed life-like sets.
Of course, people cannot get enough of it. The series has also gained four Emmy nominations in 2025, including Nathan Fielder's nominations for Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series and Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series. With the critically-acclaimed show's seemingly limitless possibilities, a third season should be a no-brainer. Here's everything you need to know about The Rehearsal season 3.
So is The Rehearsal coming back for season 3?
Because the show is based on real people and real-life scenarios, there are as many storylines to chase as there are people on this Earth. In other words, there's no way that the series can run out of material. However, there has yet to be any official announcement from HBO on whether we can expect a third season.
What would season 3 be about?
A third season would likely mean another set of different people and different real-life scenarios they'd want to rehearse for. Obviously, because of the endless possibilities it's hard to say or guess at what the exact stories involved would be. But one thing's for sure: Nathan's going to be there to make things hilariously awkward. If the show gets renewed, we can also expect the producers to find ways to up the ante.
When would The Rehearsal season 3 come out?
There's close to three years between the first and second seasons of the show, which is totally understandable given how much work goes into it. Aside from casting people who are willing to participate in the experiment and the intricately-designed sets, we're sure that the legal team is busy making sure everything is airtight. (Given that the show sometimes involves Nathan going undercover, filming in secret, and doing other investigative work.)
So if the show gets renewed for a third season, definitely expect a relatively long wait time. Of course, we could be wrong and fans might be in for a pleasant surprise! We'll just have to see and keep an eye out for any news about The Rehearsal season 3.
