This season of The White Lotus is bringing dewy, fresh vacation beauty. It’s Thailand, after all. It’s a hot and sweaty wellness resort—I can’t imagine many patrons packed their red lipsticks and face gems. But, of course, we could count on Aimee Lou Wood’s character Chelsea to bring us some much-deserved makeup inspo for our next tropical vacay. For the Full Moon Party in episode 5, Chelsea donned a purple glitter eyeshadow look that has the Internet and all of us beauty editors’ buzzing. Luckily, the show’s makeup designer Rebecca Lynn dished exactly what and how she did it on Instagram.
TBH, they actually only had 15 minutes to swap Chelsea’s daytime boat look to a nighttime eye for the party, so it was all about efficiency when it came to products. She worked with Aimee Lou to choose the shade—opting for this stunning violet—that pairs well with all of the purple and pink lip shades the rest of the cast has worn (plus, it feels Thai-appropriate next to all of the orchids, hibiscus, and lotus flowers all over the resort).

She kept Aimee Lou’s skin the same—glowy and fresh—but turned all the attention to her eyes. She dusted on a mixture of the pink and purple shades from Viseart’s Editorial Brights Palette with a fluffy brush, blending out the edges. Then she used a flat shader brush to layer on two coats of the Lemonhead.LA Spacepaste in Violet Hour. Before going in with a second layer, she recommends waiting for the first to dry to make sure that there’s no creasing (these glitters are actually suspended in a gel-like paste—hence the product name—which makes them way easier to apply than a loose powder, btw). She went really opaque for Chelsea’s look but suggests just dabbing the glitter across your lids for a wash of color if you want something more understated (you know, as understated as you can be with glitter on your eyeballs).
She finished with a few coats of black mascara and gave Aimee Lou flushed cheeks with the Saie Dew Blush in a pinky shade (we love Sweetie and Baby, depending on your skin tone). Shop all of them above if you want to get the exact look or try one of these glitters below:
