Could you watch your partner get with someone else, in the hopes that it’ll make your own relationship stronger? Yeah, us neither. But this is exactly the premise of the latest reality TV show to arrive on Netflix, Temptation Island.
The 10-part series follows four couples who head to Hawai‘i and decide to split up in order to move into two new houses full of eligible singles. The four women move in with 12 tempting guys, and the men do the same with the new women.
Over the course of two weeks, they have the opportunity to go on dates and develop connections with the singles in order to see if their own existing relationship is what really makes them happy. And each group then gets the chance to see what their other half has been up to with the singles in a number of clips shown at a bonfire.
One couple who ultimately chose to breakup and form new connections were Tayler and Tyler, with Tyler falling head over heels for single Kay. But are Kay and Tyler still together? Here’s what we know.
Who are Temptation Island’s Kay and Tyler?
Tyler, 27, entered the Temptation Island experiment with his 30-year-old girlfriend Tayler. They’d been together for two and a half years and decided to come on the show because Tyler has never had the opportunity to date around. He got with Tayler shortly after his split from his wife and so has never really been single. As for Tayler, she’s looking for someone who can truly commit and be a responsible adult, something she feels is missing in relationship with Tyler.
Kay meanwhile is one of the 12 single women known as “Temptresses” who are put in the house with the guys. Kay is 26 years old and works as a fitness influencer.
What happened with Temptation Island’s Tyler and Kay on the show?
During their time on Temptation Island, Kay and Tyler got to know each other pretty quickly. He chose Kay as the person he wanted to go on the majority of his dates with and they began to form their connection.
They were the first pair to go into the Temptation Haven, which doesn’t allow cameras in. But rather than engage in physical activity, it seemed the two were just enjoying the silliness of the moment of not being watched. We did however hear them share a kiss in the tent.
As their time together progressed, Kay began having sleepovers with Tyler in his room, and soon Tyler was praising Kay, saying during his confessional “cuddling with Kay” just rolls off his tongue.
When Tayler was watching the moments between Tyler and Kay play out during the bonfire scenes, while initially upset, she seemed to have made her peace with the pair getting together and ultimately decided she didn’t want to be with Tyler.
As the final bonfire approached, Tyler and Kay’s feelings became very clear for each other, with Tyler saying how much he was falling for Kay.
Are Temptation Island’s Kay and Tyler still together?
During episode 10 of the series, Tyler and Tayler chose to not continue their relationship and leave the island together. Instead Tayler chose to leave by herself and Tyler chose to leave the Island with Kay.
Following the release of the season, Kay shared a cryptic post on her TikTok, seemingly hinting at a breakup. She uploaded a video of herself dancing in her new apartment, and captioned it “an apartment he’s never been in 🩷🥰🌸✨✨.” It felt like a clue, but now it sounds like she was actually talking about a completely different person.
In an interview with Tudum, Kay and Tyler confirmed that they are not together. In fact, they haven’t spoken since filming and Kay said she never really expected them to date after the show. “We were put in such a romantic setting. That’s why it became romantic,” she said. “We both still look back at it as a great experience. I think he’s such a good guy, but I don’t think he’s my guy.” But it doesn't stop there!
During his appearance on the unofficial Temptation Island reunion episode of Nick Viall's The Viall Files podcast, Tyler opened up about the reason for their breakup, saying that while he had a “fun” experience with Kay, it was their off-camera date that sealed their fate. According to Tyler, Kay used the opportunity to tell him more about herself. “[She] told me a little bit more about her career and what she does, and she withheld very important information,” he said. The important information in question? “She's an OnlyFans model.” Tyler added that he was a very jealous guy and wasn't comfortable with that.
Kay, however, sees it differently. She took to TikTok to set the record straight, sharing screenshots of texts allegedly sent by Tyler a week after filming wrapped, asking her to meet up in Nashville. She had other texts from the month or two that followed, seemingly showing that her OnlyFans didn't stop him from pursuing her. “It just doesn't add up, babe,” she said in her video, noting that she originally wasn't going to say anything about their communications after the show. “I was totally okay with the narrative of like he chose to not be together, but now it's starting to feel a little bit, like, disrespectful,” she added.
