Season 2 manifesters are in luck, as Channel 4—British broadcasting channel that initially aired the show to fans in the United Kingdom back in 2023—revealed that a second installment is indeed on the way, according to Deadline. The outlet reported that The Couple Next Door "became the UK network’s biggest scripted streaming launch on record, with episode one garnering more than a million views in its first seven days"—so it would be pretty unwise to not to renew.

What would season 2 of The Couple Next Door be about?

Thanks to the official logline for season 2, fans already have a great idea of what to expect. It reads: “Heart surgeon Charlotte Roberts and her husband, consultant anesthetist Jacob are a high-flying busy married couple. But things soon turn upside down when their mysterious new hospital colleague Mia rents out the house next door.

“Working her way into Charlotte and Jacob’s confidence and eventually their bed, Mia also quickly befriends cul-de-sac outcast Alan whilst Charlotte has to handle the reappearance of past flame Leo. It’s not long before Mia’s past comes back to haunt her, leading Charlotte and Jacob to question who she really is, especially when patients at the hospital mysteriously start dying.”

Who is in the cast for The Couple Next Door season 2?

Season 2 of The Couple Next Door will have a brand new cast—sorry to all the Sam Heughan and Alfie lovers. Deadline reports that the show's second season will be "led by Sam Palladio (Nashville), Annabel Scholey (The Split), Aggy K Adams (The Witcher), and Sendhil Ramamurthy (One Piece)." Hugh Dennis, who played Alan Richardson—the creepy bookkeeper neighbor—in the first installment of the show is set to return.

Collider explained that "Annabel Scholey has been cast to play Charlotte" while "Sam Palladio will play her husband Jacob." As for the other characters, "Aggy K Adams will play the story's villain, Mia, while Sendhil Ramamurthy will play Charlotte's ex-boyfriend, Leo."

When would The Couple Next Door season 2 come out?

Patience, young grasshopper—you're probably gonna have to wait a while for this one. Season one didn't premiere until late November 2023 in the United Kingdom, and only just arrived in the United States and Canada more than a year after its initial release.

As for what the season 2 release timeline is looking like so far, "production is underway in Belgium"—so expect a few year's wait at the very least.
