With RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 8 in full swing and a week of Pride Month under our belts, there’s already a lot to celebrate this June. And Drag Race is keeping that same energy with a brand-new release. The franchise is celebrating Pride 2023 with a special episode of its docuseries Portrait of a Queen titled “Face of Bosco,” starring season 14 finalist Bosco herself.
The episode follows Bosco—who came out as trans after season 14—through the process of getting facial feminization surgery while navigating her life post–Drag Race. “Face of Bosco” premieres on the RuPaul’s Drag Race YouTube channel today at 11 a.m. ET, but you can catch an early sneak peek of the doc episode in the clip above.
“The documentary team was incredible. So kind and gentle during a really stressful time of my life. That being said, the last thing you want after having your face peeled off and remixed is cameras pointed at your newly acquired face, so some parts of the documentary were extremely challenging for me to film. I’m very happy we pushed through and I’m so thankful to the team that made this possible,” Bosco told Cosmo in a statement about the project.
And here’s what the franchise says about it in a release: “Launching June 8th on the RuPaul’s Drag Race YouTube channel, ‘Face of Bosco’ is a topical look at transgender health care and the personal undertaking of a beloved, fan-favorite queen.”
Be sure to check out “Face of Bosco” today, as well as additional episodes of Portrait of a Queen on the RuPaul’s Drag Race YouTube channel while you’re at it. Happy June!
