After the season finale of Ted Lasso season 3, there was one question on everyone’s mind: Is this the end of the series? Well, it seems like for most shows, this would be a much easier question to answer. But when it comes to a project like Ted Lasso, things are obviously a lot more complicated, just like some of Ted’s funny references. But don’t worry, we’ve channeled our inner Trent Crimm and tried to get some answers to our most burning questions.
Here’s everything you need to know about Ted Lasso season 4.
So, is Ted Lasso season 4 happening?!
Yes! Despite the fact that several cast members (mostly co-creator and Ted himself Jason Sudeikis) originally said that season 3 would be the end, the show is, in fact, returning for more.
News of a Ted Lasso season 4 was officially announced on March 14, 2025, almost 2 years after season 3 premiered.
Who is coming back in Ted Lasso season 4?
Stars Jason Sudeikis, Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein, and Jeremy Swift were the first original cast members confirmed for season 4, per Deadline. And Apple TV+ confirmed even more returns in a July announcement. Here's a complete list of the returning cast:
- Jason Sudeikis as Ted Lasso
- Hannah Waddingham as Rebecca Welton
- Brett Goldsteine as Roy Kent
- Jeremy Swift as Leslie Higgins
- Juno Temple as Keeley Jones
- Brendan Hunt as Coach Beard
It's unclear whether or not more fan favorites, like Phil Dunster, who played Jamie Tartt, and Nick Mohammed (aka Nate the Great) are in negotiations to return or not. Given that this will be a brand new storyline for Ted, it's possible that many of the OGs just don't fit into the new narrative. But we'll just have to wait and see.
Who is joining the Ted Lasso season 4 cast?
There's a lot we don't know about Ted Lasso season 4, but there is some exciting casting news we can absolutely tell you about, including one recast—Ted's son will now be played by Grant Feely. As for who else is joining the cast, here's what we know so far:
- Grant Feely as Henry Lasso
- Tanya Reynolds as Unknown
- Jude Mack as Unknown
- Faye Marsay as Unknown
- Rex Hayes as Unknown
- Aisling Sharkey as Unknown
- Abbie Hern as Unknown
Are there any first looks at Ted Lasso season 4?
So happy you asked. In the network's announcement that that Ted Lasso season 4 had officially started production, Apple TV+ shared a first look at the comedy's return. “We're not in Richmond anymore,” read a tweet shared by Apple TV+ alongside a video of what appears to be Jason, Hannah, Juno, and Jeremy sharing some BBQ in Kansas City—where Ted returned at the end of season 3.
What will Ted Lasso season 4 be about?
While appearing on the New Heights podcast, Jason confirmed that Ted would be coaching a women's team this round. The official logline reads: “Ted returns to Richmond, taking on his biggest challenge yet: coaching a second division women's football team. Throughout the course of the season, Ted and the team learn to leap before they look, taking chances they never thought they would.”
Given that he's headed back to Richmond, we're crossing our fingers this means that Ted will also get to spend some time back with his Diamond Dogs yet again.
When will Ted Lasso season 4 come out?
That’s a very good question! Apple TV+ is not one to rush shows, especially bigger titles like Ted Lasso that seem to do well on their own timing. Each season takes time, so it’ll probably be a good wait until it comes back. But as we’ve seen in the past, it’s always worth the wait!
