Yellowstone just finished its highly anticipated fourth season, so naturally, fans are already moving on to highly anticipating any and all news about season 5—including if there’s going to be a Yellowstone season 5 at all. Here’s everything we know so far about the show’s fifth season.

Mmkay, first things first: Is Yellowstone season 5 happening?

ViacomCBS announced the renewal on February 3, 2022.

TBH, this renewal news is not a huge surprise. In March 2021, Cole Hauser (who you know better as Yellowstone’s v mysterious, v sexy Rip) took part in a virtual happy hour chat with Hall Wines and hinted that the ball is already rolling on Yellowstone season 5.

“[Showrunner and writer Taylor Sheridan] is working on it right now,” he said. “Season 5 is going to be wonderful. The way we ended season 4—I can’t give too much away, but the way season 4 ends, I think the audience…will be happily surprised.”

On May 20, Paramount Network sent out a press release revealing that the show has re-started production again in Montana and that it's still on track for its big return.

Which Yellowstone cast members are returning for season 5?

Again, nothing is official yet, but thanks to Cole’s very teasy happy hour chat, we have some clues about which Yellowstone actors we can *maybe/hopefully* expect back in season 5.

“For us as actors—and I think I can speak for everybody, even including Kevin, Kelly Reilly, Wes Bentley, Luke Grimes, Gil Birmingham—you know, everybody is a part of it,” he said. “We come together. This is now going into our fifth year, so we come together as a family.”

However, things are getting complicated on set as it has been revealed that Kevin Costner is done with the show. And it looks like he's officially leaving the ranch. Entertainment Tonight was the first to report that Kevin will be hanging up his cowboy hat after this season.

So, wait, is Yellowstone ending?

Unfortunately, yes, Yellowstone is officially coming to an end after season 5. However, you're not saying goodbye to the Duttons just yet. Casting and details haven't been revealed yet, but it is expected that most of the original Yellowstone cast will return.

Where will we be able to watch Yellowstone season 5?

The fifth season of Yellowstone will air first on the Paramount Network and eventually join the show’s first four seasons streaming on Peacock Premium.

When will Yellowstone season 5 come back?

As you've probably seen, the season has been split up into two parts for a number of reasons. But it looks like it'll take some time to see how the whole story ends. Paramount Network previously announced that the series will return in November 2024 for its final batch of episodes, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Later on in June 2024, Paramount Network revealed in a press release that Yellowstone will officially be back on November 10 at 8 PM ET/PT. So mark your calendars cause we're finally going back to the Dutton's ranch.

And that's not all! Two spinoffs are also in the works so it looks like we won't be leaving the ranch just yet!

Is there a trailer yet?

The trailer for the second part of the season is finally out and it shows the Duttons are getting ready to fight each other and anyone else who gets in their own way as they think about the future of their family and the ranch. With the land and their name at stake, which Dutton will come out on top?
