Is There Going to Be a Bridgerton Season 4?
Yup. Netflix announced this happy news back in 2021 at the same time they revealed the show had been renewed for season 3.
When Is Bridgerton Season 4 Coming Out?
We finally have the answer to this! Part 1 is premiering January 29 and Part 2 airs on February 26. So it's not super far, but it's also not close, either. At least it'll help us fight the winter blues. Netflix released a small teaser trailer with the date announcement.
Has Bridgerton Season 4 Begun Filming?
Yes! When Netflix released the first photos of Yerin and Luke on set in September of 2024, the streamer confirmed the season was officially in production. And, given that showrunner Jess Brownell previously told The Hollywood Reporter that Bridgerton seasons typically take eight months to film, it seems safe to assume that they should be wrapping up this summer. Of course, the show still has to be edited, dubbed, and finalized, but a winter 2025 release doesn't feel so out of the question.
What Is Bridgerton Season 4 About?
Benedict! The show skipped over his season to give us Polin, so he’s on deck!
Shondaland and Netflix officially announced the news on July 23, 2024, passing the torch to angsty painter Benedict Bridgerton.
“Despite his elder and younger brothers both being happily married, Benedict is loath to settle down—until he meets a captivating Lady in Silver at his mother’s masquerade ball,” Netflix wrote in its announcement.
Who Is Playing Sophie?
After waiting not-so-patiently for Netflix to announce who would be starring opposite Luke Thompson/playing his future lover, fans finally got the answer back in September of 2024, when Netflix announced that Yerin Ha will be playing Sophie Baek.
“Sophie Baek has been forced to spend much of her life working as a maid for the most demanding employer in the ton. But the resourceful Sophie always finds a way to persevere through her circumstances—which will drastically change after she disguises herself to attend Violet Bridgerton’s masquerade ball and meets Benedict Bridgerton,” read a press release.
Later that month, Netflix also released the first photos of Yerin with Luke Thompson.
Needless to say, these two make a very attractive couple.
What About the Returning Bridgerton Cast?
As always, the cast of Bridgerton will include leads of seasons past, as well as favored members of the Ton. Last season's leads Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton are both set to return. As are Hannah Dodd and Victor Ali, whose characters also tied the knot in season 3.
Simone Ashley and Jonathan Bailey, aka Kate and Anthony Bridgerton, will also be returning, though it's unclear for how many episodes. Simone confirmed her return in an interview with Glamour, in September, but managed not to give away any details. Jonathan, however, was a bit more forthcoming when he confirmed his season 4 return. “I was filming a wedding Monday morning,” he said in a June interview with The Hollywood Reporter. “People know that people get married in Bridgerton—that's not a spoiler, right?” Um, it kinda is, Jonathan!!
