• Sombr performed at the 2026 BRIT Awards on February 28.
  • He sang “undressed” and “Back to Friends” while onstage, but was attacked by a stage crasher who called him a “homewrecker.”
  • Fans were left divided on if the incident was staged or not.

The 2026 BRIT Awards were...interesting, to say the least. After hitting the red carpet in tiny little ballet flats (yes, really), Harry Styles tried his hand at true choreography. Dua Lipa convinced me to buy a plunging romper during her sizzling performance of “Electricity.” And Sombr...well, Sombr left fans wondering if his performance went according to plan.

Sombr hit the stage at the BRITs last night to perform his singles, “undressed” and “Back to Friends.” The performance appeared to be normal as can be, down to his shiny little two-piece set worn without a shirt—until a random man stormed the stage wearing a “SOMBR IS A HOMEWRECKER” and pushed him off the platform, before security apprehended the man.

Sombr carried on the rest of the performance like a pro, and picked up right were he left off, in the true spirit of show business. See the madness for yourself:

BRITs host Jack Whitehall even made a cheeky remark after Sombr’s performance was over. “Such a shame we didn’t have the security ready,” he said. Shortly after, the internet went into a frenzy and couldn’t decide if Sombr was a victim, or was just very clever in garnering attention on such a big stage.

If you, like many others who saw the incident unfold live last night, are hoping that your favorite floppy haired crooner is okay, don’t worry—Variety gave viewers an update after the moment unfolded: “Shortly after the performance came to a close, Sombr’s rep confirmed to Variety that the whole thing was part of the act.”

Another telling clue that the attack was a previously planned stunt? Sombr’s latest single is called “Homewrecker,” and he released the music video for it three weeks ago:

That said, just consider a little bit of shameless promo.
