Miley Cyrus has officially ushered in a new era with edgy and chic all-black looks on the red carpet and archival looks from Thierry Mugler couture, Jean Paul Gaultier, custom Alexander McQueen, and Alaïa. Her ninth studio album, Something Beautiful, is here, and it marks the pop culture icon’s first full-length musical project since 2023’s Endless Summer Vacation.

When does Miley Cyrus’s album Something Beautiful come out?
According to her official album announcement (which Miley posted to her socials on the 19th anniversary of Hannah Montana’s premiere, FYI), Something Beautiful dropped via Columbia Records on May 30, 2025.
What did Miley reveal about the visual album before it dropped?
During her November 2024 cover story with Harper’s Bazaar, the “Jaded” singer shared that her upcoming project is a “hypnotizing and glamorous” visual album in which horror director Panos Cosmatos is “heavily involved.”
“It’s a concept album that’s an attempt to medicate somewhat of a sick culture through music,” Miley told the publication. She added, “It was inspired by Pink Floyd’s The Wall. My idea was making The Wall, but with a better wardrobe and more glamorous and filled with pop culture.”
Panos added that Something Beautiful is “more experimental than anything she’s ever done, but in a pop way that I love.”
She doubled down on the visual album concept in her announcement, writing, “Captured by renowned fashion photographer Glen Luchford, the album artwork features Miley Cyrus draped in archival 1997 Thierry Mugler couture, a striking nod to the album’s bold aesthetic and visual storytelling.”
On March 31, Miley surprised fans when she dropped the first tracks and visual components for the album, “Prelude” and “Something Beautiful.”
Are there any features on Something Beautiful?
Yes! Miley’s new album includes iconic features with Brittany Howard and Naomi Campbell. She revealed that there would be 13 tracks on a standard version of the album, which was produced by herself and Shawn Everett.
And, in conversation with Harper’s Bazaar, Miley dished that her boyfriend, Maxx Morando, also penned and produced some songs for the album—including its title track. “I worked with my dad forever. That’s how me and my ex-husband met each other. I’ve always worked with the people that I love. And Maxx just inspires me so much,” she said of the process.
However, it was revealed that the film will feature cameos by Naomi Campbell and Miley’s boyfriend, Maxx Morando.
How to watch Something Beautiful by Miley Cyrus
Smilers, rejoice! Something Beautiful is set to hit Disney+ and Hulu on July 16, which means we can marvel at all of Miley’s archival looks from the comfort of our couches.
The move comes after the film had a limited U.S. theatrical release on June 12 and premiered at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival on June 6.
According to her initial announcement, the film is produced by Miley, XYZ, and Panos Cosmatos in collaboration with Columbia Records and Live Nation and directed by Miley, Jacob Bixenman, and Brendan Walter, with cinematography by Benoît Debie.
