Pink Friday 2 is officially on the way, and Nicki Minaj ushered in her new era with another legendary VMAs performance under her pink bedazzled belt. Nicki (or Barbie/Roman/Chun-Li, depending on what you want to call the multifaceted emcee) gave a world premiere performance of her new single, “Last Time I Saw You.” The pop-forward track is the lead single off her upcoming album, and Nicki served major looks along with her vocals and clever bars.

On top of hitting the stage for a killer performance, Nicki hosted the VMAs as emcee for the second year in a row and was nominated for six awards, including Video of the Year and Artist of the Year. Of course, she took to Instagram to share her ~feelings~ with Barbz ahead of the big night.

“Why would they let papa bear muva host the VMA’s this year chi! 😬🤫😂🤣 oh it’s gon be a KI. not 🔑. A ki 🤪 b!ch!!!!!” Nicki wrote. The “Barbie World” rapper noted that she kept the Chanel jacket she was wearing for 10 years in hopes that it would fit again. The queen of rap also seems to be the queen of manifestation as she concluded her caption with “That good ol’ SAGITTARIUS ♐️ MANIFESTATION.”

In 2022, Nicki attended the VMAs as an emcee, performer, winner, and recipient of the coveted Video Vanguard Award. She also performed a Barbie-fied medley of her greatest hits from “Moment 4 Life” to “Super Freaky Girls” and paid homage to her Pink Friday days with her smash single “Super Bass.”

Thankfully, we’ll be transported back to Nicki’s pink paradise with Pink Friday 2 when it hits streaming platforms on November 17. 🩷✨🎀
