Days after its SXSW premiere, Amazon Prime's Pretty Lethal made its way to New York and Cosmo had a front-row seat. On March 24th, just hours after our cast profile went live, the film’s stars—Maddie Ziegler, Lana Condor, Avantika, Iris Apatow, and Millicent Simmonds—descended on the Lower East Side’s forever-chic Public Hotel for an exclusive screening co-hosted by Cosmopolitan.
The evening began in Artspace, the hotel's hidden, basement club, where images from the cast’s Cosmo shoot lined the walls. Cocktails flowed, popcorn was passed, and, after a few rounds of hors d'oeuvres, the audience (a who's who of NYC, including David Iacono, Hallie Batchelder, Coco Arquette, Dylan Kevitch, Larry Owens, Benton McClintock, Kitty Lever, Ana Villafañe, Miss Benny, Julian Shapiro-Barnum, and Cosmo columnist Ella Snyder) took their seats for the main event.
Let’s just say, they were not a passive crowd. Gasps, cheers, and spontaneous applause broke out throughout the film’s jump-scare fight scenes and emotional triumphs — a testament to just how engrossing all 90-minutes of Pretty Lethal really are.
After the credits rolled, Cosmopolitan's Senior Director of Entertainment Maxwell Losgar took the stage to moderate a cast Q&A. That combative dynamic between their characters? Couldn't be further from reality. In fact, these five are genuinely close, having bonded during rigorous ballet training, long filming hours, and a temporary move to Budapest. Case in point: they’ve managed to maintain a near-daily group chat for catch-ups and check-ins.
Before we knew it, it was time for the afterparty on The Rooftop, complete with sweeping views of downtown Manhattan, more cocktails (of course), and photo stations to help guests remember the moment. DJ duo, Bear JuJu played all night, keeping the good vibes going. There’s nothing like being in the room but, luckily, you can take a peek at the night’s best pics below.
Pretty Lethal is streaming now on Amazon Prime.
