- Keep reading to find out how you can watch this movie on the big screen and on your couch.
It's been three long years since we got our last Knives Out movie, but thankfully, we're finally back in the world of Benoit Blanc. In Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery the detective is up to his old crime-solving ways, with a whole new set of characters to puzzle over. He's investigating the death of a charismatic priest, and everyone in the congregation is a suspect. Starring Daniel Craig (obviously), Josh O'Connor (thankfully), and a few other people you may or may not have heard of (Glenn Close, Kerry Washington, Mila Kunis, Jeremy Renner, Andrew Scott), it's a hoot. So when can you watch it in theaters or at home? Here's what we know.
When can I watch this in theaters?
The movie hit select theaters on November 26, but the catch is that you might not be able to see it in a theater. It all depends on where you live.
This is a Netflix movie. And although typically the streaming service does not put their movies in theaters (it's antithetical to their entire business model), this is a special case. When the streamer is hopeful that a movie could potentially win some awards, they'll put that movie in theaters for a limited run to ensure it can qualify for those awards. So, if you're in certain cities, you might be able to catch it on the big screen. If you go to a site like Fandango and type in your zip code, you should be able to find out pretty quickly.
Although it's not the most intuitive thing to go see a Netflix movie somewhere other than your couch, this series tends to be a huge crowd-pleaser, so it would be a great thing to do if you're trying to kill time with your family over the holiday and would prefer an activity where none of you have to talk to one another. (Anyone relate? No? Okay.)
Okay, it's not playing near me. When can I watch it at home?
Great news, you won't have to wait that long. It hits Netflix on December 12. Happy streaming!
