• A royal source is dishing on Prince William, saying he’s ruthless and doesn’t care about being liked.
  • William’s priorities? Protecting the monarchy, even if it means cutting off beloved family members.
  • This comes amid Prince William reportedly refusing to let his cousins attend royal Easter.

Prince William reportedly refused to attend this year’s royal Easter celebrations unless he got assurances that Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice weren’t going to be there, which is just the latest in his “ruthless” attempts to flex some power—despite the fact that his dad is…very much still king.

A source tells Rob Shuter that “William is not afraid to make hard calls. And right now, that’s exactly what the Royal Family needs. Charles leads with his heart. William leads with strategy.”

They add that “He doesn’t forget, and he doesn’t forgive easily. If you cross the line, that’s it.”

Apparently, “the monarchy is under more pressure than ever” (you know, what with ex-Prince Andrew being literally arrested), and ultimately the royals need someone in charge “who can make tough, unpopular decisions.” Which William has no problem doing!

“He understands the stakes,” the insider says. “This isn’t just family—it’s a business. Andrew is a problem. Harry is a problem. William knows that—and he acts accordingly. He’s not trying to be liked. He’s trying to protect the monarchy.”

And ultimately, Prince William holds all the cards. A source previously said that when it came to Easter, “The message was simple. If certain people are there, we won’t be. You can’t have a royal event without William and his family. If they don’t show, the whole thing collapses.”
