The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Jessi Draper just sat down for an interview with Call Her Daddy, recorded on March 20—after The Bachelorette was cancelled amid TMZ releasing footage from a 2023 domestic incident between Taylor Frankie Paul and Dakota Mortensen.
Jessi said she found out about The Bachelorette’s cancellation when she was with Sasha from Dancing With the Stars, and that Taylor actually called her to check in.
“Taylor was calling me so I had two missed calls from her and I was like, ‘Oh shit,’” she said. “I answered and she was like, ‘How are you?’ The thing about Taylor is she's always checking, she has her own shit going on so sometimes she’s not like not very present, but she does care about her friends. She's like, ‘How are you doing? I just heard.’ And I was like ‘how are you doing…’”
So…how is she doing? Per Jessi, “I actually talked to her right before I came in here and she seemed pretty positive today and I think she knows that this's gonna be a long and scary journey. And the thing about Taylor, she always tells the truth, you know, she's known for that and I think she's gonna handle this in the best way possible and I think she's taking a beat to figure that out. She's not just running into TMZ leaking stories, so I think that's the right way to go about it.”
Meanwhile, Jessi said she last spoke to Dakota Mortensen “Probably two weeks ago” because “He was at my house a lot because him and Jordan's dynamic. So through all of this he's actually been in my house quite often. Just like, I was never like engaging but he was like around Jordan. So yeah, probably two weeks ago. I didn't hear a lot of [the conversations]. I tried to stay outta it because I'm like, I'm Taylor’s friend, you know, but Jordan and him have to gossip, I'll say that.”
