- Former Pussycat Dolls members Nicole Scherzinger, Kimberly Wyatt, and Ashley Roberts are officially back as a trio for their upcoming world tour.
- During a March 20 interview on the Today Show, Nicole awkwardly froze when asked about the group’s alleged feud with the three members who weren’t included in the reunion.
- Here’s the latest on the Pussycat Dolls’ alleged feud.
In case you haven’t heard, the Pussycat Dolls are officially back. The group first broke out in 2005 with six members, including Nicole Scherzinger, Kimberly Wyatt, Ashley Roberts, Carmit Bachar, Jessica Sutta, and Melody Thornton, and they later attempted to make a comeback in 2020, minus Melody. Now, PCD has returned in some capacity, as Nicole, Ashley, and Kimberly have reunited as a trio for their upcoming world tour.
Of course, the girls are doing their rounds of press to promote their 53-date tour, which kicks off in Palm Desert, California, on June 5. But when Nicole was asked about a reported rift between the current trio and former members during a March 20 appearance on the Today Show, she completely froze.
“Well, I mean, listen, we are so, as women today…” she said, before awkwardly going quiet.
Kimberly thankfully stepped in, saying, “I mean, it has been an ever-changing lineup, and this is what it looks like now in 2026, and you never know what comes next. And I think ultimately we’ve gotta protect our peace, and when something like The Pussycat Dolls has history, we have ruptured in the past and right now we are repairing, and we’re sort of on the same page with that.”
Once Nicole gathered her thoughts, she added, “But what I wanted to say is, we have so much love and respect for all of the women that have been elite Pussy legacy and once a Doll, always a Doll.”
Their awkward response comes after one of the group’s original Dolls, Carmit, revealed she hadn’t been asked to participate in the reunion tour despite her role in landing the band a deal with A&M Records, under Interscope.
“As an original member of The Pussycat Dolls, that chapter of my life will always hold profound meaning,” Carmit wrote in her statement, which she shared to Instagram on March 17.
Carmit, who was part of the 2020 PCD reunion that spawned tracks like “React” and “Genetics” with Meghan Trainor, added, “I carry with me deep gratitude for the music we created, the experiences we shared, and most importantly, the incredible fans around the world who supported us.”
She continued, “I was not contacted regarding the group’s decision to move forward, and I learned of these plans at the same time as the public,” later adding, “I would have appreciated direct communication.”
While Carmit has spoken out, Jessica and Melody have yet to weigh in on the reunion. Melody has previously been vocal about her journey with the band and revealed there is “no bad blood” between her and the other girls during a 2020 interview with Entertainment Tonight.
She also spoke on her decision to decline being part of their 2020 revival, saying, “I had people on my team saying, ‘Oh, I’d hate for you to miss out on a cash grab, or an opportunity.’ I don't want to live my life…on a cash grab. And if that makes me stupid to some people, it makes me stupid.”
As for the (current) Pussycat Dolls, the group is reissuing their 2005 debut album, PCD, on vinyl and digital with new, never-heard-before tracks on May 8.
