Rumor has it that the Devil Wears Prada cast is planning a reunion at the 2026 Oscars (perfect timing as the sequel is incoming), and on top of that, Anne Hathaway is one of this year’s presenters. The actor arrived on the always fancy/never not chic Academy Awards red carpet wearing a strapless floral dress. Florals for spring, if you will (groundbreaking).
Anne recently broke down her character Andy’s fashion evolution during a conversation with Zuri Hall for Fandango’s Big Ticket Podcast, saying, her wardrobe now “lives at the corner of practical and fabulous.”
“It was a big conversation because, you know,” she said. “One of the joys of the first film was the fact that Nigel comes in and kind of takes Andy into a magic closet and what comes out as this, you know, reborn fashionista. But don’t think too hard about how she got all that Chanel on that salary.”
Anne added, “The thing that’s different about this one is nobody wants to suspend disbelief for a second. People want you to earn your truth. And so we made sure that we made sure that we did. And so Andy has the closet of someone who worked at Runway in her 20s and then had a job where she traveled all over the world where there are consignment shops.”
Okay, makes sense!
