There have been plenty of scandals throughout the history of MomTok, but the most recent one is the Fruity Pebbles feud between Demi Engemann and Jessi Draper. As a reminder: the Fruity Pebbles lore has been around since season one of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives…but it wasn’t until November 2025 that Jessi hopped on Instagram Stories and revealed the meaning behind the code word, which involves Demi’s husband Bret, an intimate sex act, and some flavorful urine.
Fans were looking forward to seeing all the drama unfold during SLOMW season four…but unfortunately, the incident wasn’t mentioned at all, save for the blink-and-you’ll-miss-it inclusion of a TikTok from Mikayla Matthews, which was originally posted on November 26 and captioned, “Mood now that I can openly talk about fruity pebbles.”
So…why wasn’t the Fruity Pebbles saga includes in season four? Simple: Filming for this season took place between August and October of 2025, which means fans won’t get to see exactly what went down until the show’s inevitable fifth season. Still, during an exclusive interview with Cosmo ahead of the season four premiere, Jessi was willing to spill some deets on Fruity Pebbles Gate and where she stands with Demi now.
In season four of Mormon Wives, Demi and Jessi try to repair their friendship in the wake of the Marciano Brunette/Vanderpump Villa scandal, but it doesn’t exactly go according to plan. “In our session with our energy healer, she was like a different person…and I was like, ‘Oh, I’m seeing red flags,’” Jessi said of Demi. “And then at the reunion, the way she treated Jen and the way she behaved? I was just like, ‘You know what? She’s not changing, and I’m not interested.’”
She and Demi don’t end up having any more onscreen interactions after they film the season three reunion (which reportedly took place in September), and according to Jessi, “That was what happened in real life.”
She continued, “We have not spoken since then, and I don’t wish her harm or unhappiness or anything. I just hope that we can stay in our own lanes and realize that the relationship wasn’t meant to be.”
So….why did Jessi decide to spill the pee tea? “She was just saying bad things about me online,” Jessi explained. “She was calling me a fame whore and just being crazy. And so I was like, ‘You know what? I’m so sick of this.’”
In case you forgot: Here’s the comment from Demi that pushed Jessi over the edge:
And for those who were surprised to see Demi take a step back from Mormon Wives in season four, Jessi said you shouldn’t be. “I wasn’t surprised because she does this every season,” she told Cosmo. “She’s always trying to quit and come back, whether it’s for money or because she’s mad about something.”
She added, “I think she’ll be back at some point. I just don’t think she can stay away.”
