While The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives season four hits our screens on Hulu this Thursday, March 11, Jessi Draper is getting candid about some personal drama she’s dealing with behind the scenes.
In a TikTok video posted on March 6, Jessi opened up about her recent struggles with the plastic surgery procedures she’s had done over the years, which have seemingly taken a toll on her mental health, too.
“I want to tell everyone that I am extremely unhappy with my results and I didn’t quite understand what I was getting into, to be honest,” she said. “I went in for a lower bleph and then I asked about an upper bleph and ended up getting that. Did not want fat grafting, to be honest. I just listened to a suggestion, not really understanding what it was, what it would do, what the results were gonna be, what the recovery was gonna be.”
She added, “I really wished I would have asked more questions. I wish I wouldn’t have done it. I wish I would have said, ‘No.’”
Elsewhere in the clip, Jessi said she “didn’t ask for and didn’t want” the grafting to go into her lips, which she said became “lumpy” as a result. She ended up getting Kybella injections in an attempt to slim down the fat in her chin.
“I’ve really been struggling. I genuinely feel like this last surgery ruined my life.,” she said of her mental health in the aftermath of the procedures, later adding, “I look fucking hideous all of season five, I do. My face is swollen. My eyes look crazy. I don’t look like how I used to and I hate it.”
The reality star confirmed that she was “blinded” by her “self-confidence issues,” adding, “I was beautiful, and I wasn’t able to say that a few months ago, and I can say that now. And unfortunately, I went way too far because of those insecurities.”
“It’s like the biggest learning lesson of my whole life that I’ll never touch my face again outside of botox,” she shared. “And I really wish I would have been able to see my inner beauty earlier.”
Before she expressed her regrets, though, Jessi posted different videos with her followers after her operation on February 10. Alongside a clip with her surgeon, Jessi wrote, “Almost 6 weeks post op and I’m so happy!!”
The same day she uploaded her emotional video, Jessi also told People she had received “hate and backlash” for sharing social posts surrounding her plastic surgery.
“That kinda shook me,” she told the outlet, doubling down on her incentive to stop getting work done. “I don’t think I'm ever gonna get things done again—I’m done—but I also don’t think I would share it if I did, because the internet is so mean.”
