The drama between Kelsea Ballerini and her exes seems to be never ending…and now, Chase Stokes and her ex-husband, Morgan Evans, are trading disses back and forth. But first, let’s recap.
On March 4, Morgan appeared on The Bobby Bones Show and opened up about his divorce with Kelsea, who wrote about how it all unfolded in her divorce EP, Rolling Up the Welcome Mat.
“It took me by surprise,” he told Bones in the episode. “That whole time is such a blur. It almost feels like somebody else, just from where I'm sitting now. I just look back and I'm like, ‘Oh, my God.’”
“It all happened super quick,” Morgan added. “From finding out that that was what Kelsea wanted to do, to getting a lawyer and having a prenup and having three or four calls with the lawyer and signing the documents in the Ryman parking lot in the rain, to going home.”
The literal next day, Chase hopped on Bones’ Instagram had some serious words for Mogan in the comments section. “This is about the most pathetic excuse of masculinity I've ever seen,” he wrote under a clip that Bones shared of Morgan’s comments on the podcast episode. “Get a fucking life.” Bones later revealed that Chase deleted the comment.
Morgan responded with an Instagram post that featured him doing several traditionally manly tasks like holding up a refrigerator, fixing up his car, and chopping wood. His caption? “Feeling pretty masculine today.”
Which brings us to Kelsea’s super cryptic March 6 Instagram Story. According to E!, she shared an image that read, “And for the lady, perhaps a fucking break?” She also added Lenny Kravitz’s “It Ain’t Over ‘Til It’s Over,” to the post, which coincidentally talks about the ups and downs in about a rocky relationship.
As a refresher, Kelsea hit back at a fan who yelled “Team Morgan” during her December concert as she performed “Penthouse,” a track from Rolling Up the Welcome Mat. “Fuck off. Team everybody’s happy,” she said. Revisit the moment below at the at the 2:50 mark:
She later hopped on Instagram to discuss the moment and explained that she planned on taking the song off her setlist altogether if the behavior continued at her future shows.
“Respectfully, if anyone yells anything disrespectful to anyone during this song again, it will no longer be on the setlist,” Kelsea wrote on her Instagram Story at the time. “Please let this be a song that matters to people and not a place to insert yourself into a world that doesn't exist and was never yours to begin with. Team everyone's happy or bust. Please.”
Not sure what will happen now, but uh…stay tuned for future updates.
