Season 2 takes place in 1814, Season 3 takes place in 1815, and it seems like Season 4 takes place about a year after that or so, in 1816. Therefore! If Benedict is 26 in 1813, he's somewhere between 29 and 30 in 1816—depending on when his birthday falls.
As for Sophie, she's 22 in the books, but actor Yerin Ha is 28 in real life—while actor Luke Thompson is 37 in real life. So yeah, there's a bit of an age difference, but it didn't stop them from having major chemistry.
"We didn't force anything," Yerin told E! News. "We tried to let it happen and see what was going to grow organically. I'm a big believer in not forcing anything and trying to not make people feel something a certain way about me. It was just having to trust him, and you do have to surrender a little bit, and that is kind of scary.
