• Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie will not be joining the royal family at the Royal Ascot this year.
  • According to a source, Beatrice is taking it harder than Eugenie is.
  • The update comes weeks after ex-Prince Andrew’s arrest amid his connection to Jeffrey Epstein.

Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie and their mother, Sarah Ferguson have all been flying under the radar following the arrest of ex-Prince Andrew due to his connection with Jeffrey Epstein. While there is no word yet on if Beatrice and Eugenie will get to keep their titles, they are facing another dilemma—social exile.

According to the Daily Mail, Beatrice and Eugenie will not be joining the rest of the royal family this year at the Royal Ascot. For the uninitiated, the British royal family typically attends the Royal Ascot every year. Attending the event became a tradition starting back in 1711 with Queen Anne, and has since become a way to showcase the royal family’s personal and financial connections to the world of horse racing. This year’s Royal Ascot takes place from June 16-20.

A source told Daily Mail, “I've spoken to my friend who works at Ascot, and they said the girls have been told they can’t be there this year.” The source added, “Beatrice has taken it the hardest. She's been completely blindsided by all of this.”

That doesn’t mean that the girls aren’t allowed to go elsewhere. Beatrice was recently spotted on a vacation with her husband, Jack Brooksbank, and their two children at a luxury ski resort in Gstaad, Switzerland on February 18—one day before Andrew’s arrest.

“I was surprised to see her because I thought she would be keeping a low profile in light of everything that has been going on,” a source a source told Hello! “They were tucked away in a corner and casually dressed in ski gear and jackets, and Jack was wearing a beanie hat as they both browsed the menu.”

Eugenie and Sarah have yet to be seen in the public eye following Andrew’s arrest, but should this trend continue, the royal family’s Christmas plans will look pretty different this year...
