The pair hasn’t publicly confirmed or denied the nature of their relationship, but the “Sports Car” singer’s recent social media activity has fans raising eyebrows.
Per Sports Illustrated and several screenshots across the web, Tate subtly showed support for Jack and Team USA’s gold medal win against Canada at the 2026 Winter Olympics on February 22 when she Liked a post shared by Jack’s brother, Quinn Hughes.
She has seemingly removed her Like of the post since the U.S. men’s hockey team received backlash for laughing at President Donald Trump’s misogynistic comments about the women’s team.
“We’re going to have to bring the women’s team, you do know that….If I didn’t do that, I do believe I’d probably be impeached,” Trump said during his phone call with the team after their historic win.
The internet has started side-eyeing Tate over the move, though she seemingly retracted her Like on the post.
“Miss Tate McRae don’t you ever call yourself Canada down and then go and like a post like this ever again,” one person wrote, referencing the singer’s cheeky response to criticism surrounding her ad supporting Team USA at the Winter Games.
As for Jack, he broke his silence on the men’s hockey team’s chat with Trump once he touched down in the U.S. from Milan. He told the Daily Mail, “They’ve got busy schedules, too. Everyone is giving us backlash for all the social media stuff today. People are so negative out there, and they are just trying to find a reason to put people down and make something out of almost nothing.”
He also gave the women’s hockey team a shoutout during a pregame ceremony at New Jersey’s Prudential Center on February 25. “I’m so proud and I’m so happy that the men and women’s USA hockey teams brought gold medals back to the United States of America,” he said, per People.
