The royal family has been rocked by the arrest of ex-prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor due to his connections to Jeffrey Epstein, and everyone—minus King Charles, who made a statement following his brother’s arrest—has remained tight-lipped about the scandal, especially Andrew’s ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, and their daughter Princess Beatrice. But Princess Eugenie is moving a little differently.
According to a source at Hello!, Eugenie was dining at a restaurant at a luxury ski resort of Gstaad, Switzerland on February 18, just one day before Andrew’s arrest. Eugenie was joined by her husband, Jack Brooksbank, for lunch with their two children, August, 5, and Ernest, 3.
“I was surprised to see her because I thought she would be keeping a low profile in light of everything that has been going on,” the source told the outlet, who noted that Eugenie’s nanny and a few friends joined her family for the outing.
“They were tucked away in a corner and casually dressed in ski gear and jackets, and Jack was wearing a beanie hat as they both browsed the menu,” the source added.
Eugenie is the only member from Andrew’s immediate family whose whereabouts were accounted for before his arrest. The Daily Mail reports that the “whereabouts of Andrew's ex-wife and daughter[s] remain unknown” at this time. Fergie hasn’t been seen since leaving the Royal Lodge on September 25, 2025.
“This is catastrophic for her and the girls. She seems to be doing her best to put a brave face on it,” a source close to the ex-duchess told the Telegraph. “Her desperation for money was clear stupidity but does that equate to what she’s going through now?” The Telegraph source also noted that Eugenie and Beatrice were “in a state” after the news of Andrew’s arrest.
It’s unclear if Eugenie is still in Switzerland, but one thing is certain: More details will likely emerge soon.
