- Cat has been romantically linked to Jess Panneton since 2020.
- The actor joked that she’s “safe” from the toxic relationships with men that are portrayed in the hit Hulu series.
Cat Missal isn’t holding back. The actor, who plays Bree on Hulu’s hit romantic drama Tell Me Lies, got candid about her off-screen romance while discussing the toxic traits that led to the show’s shocking series finale.
In a February 18 interview with Teen Vogue, Cat made rare comments about her sexuality and real-life relationship. When asked if the main takeaway from Tell Me Lies is that “90 percent of men would manipulate you if given the chance,” Cat cheekily responded, “Well, I am gay, so thank God.”
Her partner Jess Panneton, who was present for the conversation, added, “You're safe with me.”
The 26-year-old actor revealed that she and Jess live together in the Valley and are parents to two fur babies, aka their cats Chicken and Bunny. As for their meet-cute? Jess dished they had first crossed paths at a drag show in West Hollywood, which Cat attended with her sisters.
“I just thought you were so cool,” Cat said of meeting Jess for the first time. “It just felt kismet because they were like, ‘Who are you flirting with? Who's that?’ And now we're all family.”
The couple has seemingly been romantically linked since at least 2020, when Jess shared an Instagram post of them looking loved-up for Valentine’s Day.
The following month, Jess doubled down by sharing another post featuring photo strips of the pair, as well as clips from low-key dates and a roller rink outing.
While her on-screen relationships on Tell Me Lies may be dramatic, Cat revealed how she remains cautious when sharing vulnerabilities in real-life connections.
“I would say you can give 100 percent of yourself to people, just not 100 percent of the time,” she told the outlet. “You can let people in and have them be a part of your life in a meaningful way, where they truly know who you are, without it taking over every part of your life.”
