• Meghan Markle shared a sweet photo of Lilibet and Prince Harry together for Valentine’s Day.
  • Lilibet’s face was visible in the photo, which marks the first time Meghan has chosen to show her face online.
  • Meghan has revealed in the past that she’s tries to protect her children by not sharing too much about them online or in the press.

After years of scrutiny in the press, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have taken every step to ensure the safety of their two children, Archie and Lilibet. Over the years, the pair has offered small glances at their home life, but were always careful to never show Archie or Lilibet’s face online—that is, until now.

In honor of Valentine’s Day, Meghan took to Instagram to give Lilibet, Archie and Prince Harry a loving shoutout. “These two + Archie = my forever Valentines,” she captioned a sweet photo of Harry holding Lilibet, face totally visible, as she holds a red bouquet of balloons. And yes, she looks just like Harry, down to the hair color:

An unnamed friend of Meghan and Harry’s opened up about their desire to protect Archie and Lilibet’s privacy in 2024, telling Us Weekly that it largely stems from them not having the same protections that William and Kate Middleton have with their kids.

“I think every parent wants to share their kid with the world, but they just can’t,” the source said. “William’s kids, for example, have way more safety, even though they’re recognizable. And the same doesn’t apply to Meghan and Harry’s children. They know the world wants to see [them, but] I would expect them to live smaller lives until that gets sorted, if it ever does.”

Meghan also alluded to this in her 2024 interview with CBS: “Our kids are young. They're three and five. They're amazing. But all you want to do as parents is protect them. And so, as we can see what's happening in the online space, we know that there's a lot of work to be done there, and we're just happy to be able to be a part of change for good.”
