• Lady Gaga won two Grammys at the 2026 Awards: Best Dance Pop Recording and Best Pop Vocal Album.
  • After her second win, the crowd gave Gaga a standing ovation, but cameras caught Miley Cyrus remaining seated and not clapping, sparking speculation.
  • Rumor has it the tension may not be about Gaga, but about her producer Andrew Watt, who previously worked with Miley on Plastic Hearts.

Attention: Lady Gaga has just added two more Grammys to her collection!! During the 2026 Grammy Awards on February 1, Gaga took home the golden gramophone for Best Dance Pop Recording and Best Pop Vocal Album—but it seemed as though not everyone was happy for her. After Gaga won her second award, the crowd gave her a standing ovation...and then camera panned to Miley Cyrus, who was also up for Best Pop Vocal Album and notably still seated. And not clapping.

Now the question begs: Was Miley Cyrus snubbing Lady Gaga with her reaction? Please see the moment for yourself:

However! It seems the situation is reportedly more complicated than it appeared. As several fans have noted on X, Miley’s (alleged) beef reportedly isn’t with Gaga herself, but rather with Gaga’s producer, Andrew Watt, with whom Miley collaborated on Plastic Hearts in 2020.

It’s unclear what exactly went down between Miley and Andrew (who Gaga worked with on her 2025 album MAYHEM)...though rumor has it the two may have had a brief affair during her Plastic Hearts era.

In December 2020, Andrew had nothing but good things to say about Miley, telling Entertainment Weekly, “I have known Miley for a long time, and I’ve known her work and paid really close attention to all the stuff she was doing because I was such a fan. When she and her team came to me saying that she wanted to lean into her rock vibes a bit more, it was a dream.”

He went on to call an “artist who, without a doubt, always knows what she wants to do,” adding, “You’re on Miley’s ride when you’re there.”

Miley, meanwhile, has never said anything explicitly against Andrew, but during a June 2025 episode of Sorry We’re Cyrus—hosted by Miley’s mom, Tish, and older sister Brandi—the “Flowers” singer was asked whether there was a song of hers that she regretted writing and Miley said, “Uh, yeah. Do I say it? Half of Plastic Hearts, honestly.”

She then followed that up with, “Trauma response! Trauma response!”

Lots to unpack here.
