The 2026 Grammy Awards didn’t simply act as a vehicle for music industry to honor their achievements—it also doubled as a stage for artists to take a stand against the presence of ICE and Border Patrol agents in Minneapolis following the death of ICU nurse Alex Pretti. Following attendees wearing “ICE Out” pins on the Grammys red carpet, Bad Bunny used his Grammy acceptance speech to support those calling for the ongoing ICE raids to end.
The “DtMF” singer accepted the Grammy award for Best Música Urbana Album and used the first moments of the speech to say “ICE out.”
The rest of Bad Bunny's speech saw him urging those in power and in support of the raids to see the humanity of immigrants and protestors, noting that those in opposition should do their best to lead with love.
“We’re not savage. We’re not animals. We’re not aliens. We are humans, and we are Americans. Also, I want to say to the people....I know it’s tough not to hate on these days, and I was thinking sometimes we get contaminamos,” he continued. “The hate gets more powerful with more hate. The only thing that’s more powerful than hate is love, so please, we need to be different. If we fight, we have to do it with love. If we don’t hate them, we love our people, and we love our family. And that’s the way to do it—with love.”
