If you’re as obsessed with Tell Me Lies as I am, then you’re probably well aware that Grace Van Patten and Jackson White (aka Lucy and Stephen) are an IRL couple. However! What you may not have realized is that Sonia Mena and Spencer House (who play on-and-off-again couple Pippa and Wrigley) are also a real-life couple offscreen...and have been for years.
The news of their low-key romance first broke on January 13 ahead of the season three premiere, when the series’ makeup artist Jenny Lin accidentally spilling the beans during an interview with the Love Letters Substack. Of Spencer, she said, “He and Sonia, who plays Pippa, are together in real life, and they’re just so nice.” And just a few days later, a source confirmed to People that the two actors “have been dating for several years.”
Though really, this shouldn’t be all that shocking, considering how the two posed together at the season three premiere:
While Tell Me Lies has led to two new relationships since its 2022 premiere, the cast also includes two additional couples who were together before the show even began. For starters, Branden Cook (who stars as Evan) and Katherine Hughes (who played Diana’s friend and Evan’s temporary love interest, Molly, in season two) are also an IRL couple, though it’s unclear just how long they’ve been together.
I do know, however, that in October 2025, they announced that they were taking their relationship to the next step with an engagement:
Meanwhile Tom Ellis (who plays married professor Oliver) is actually married to Tell Me Lies creator and showrunner Meaghan Oppenheimer, having tied the knot with her back in June 2019. She is now stepmother to his three children, and the two also share a daughter, who was born in 2023 via surrogacy.
Wild stuff!!
