- Ali Wong and Bill Hader have ended their relationship after two years, news which was reported by People on January 7.
- A source tells the Daily Mail that Bill's "prickly" personality was behind the breakup, and "she could take only so much."
- The exes briefly dated in 2022, broke up, and then got back together in April 2023.
Ali Wong and Bill Hader are among the first celebrity breakups of the year, with a source telling People earlier this week that the couple had ended their relationship of 2 years. As they put it, "It was too difficult to make the relationship work with Ali’s upcoming stand up tour and Bill’s various film and tv projects this year. They’re focusing on their work and kids, while continuing to support and root for each other... They are very much friends and still in touch."
Sooo, what went wrong? The Daily Mail also spoke to an insider who had slightly more to say. "Bill is not the easiest to be around, he is tense and harsh a lot of the time, everyone knows this in Hollywood, that is why his nickname is Bill Hater, because he hates on certain things," they said. "That is how Bill gets so many cute girls; he can be kind at times, but then he can be prickly. You never know what you're going to get with him."
They added that "He was already on the outs with Ali. No one thought it would last because she is a super sweet girl, very normal, very fun and easy going, and he is not. I guess she could take only so much."
Bill and Ali dated briefly in 2022, and then got back together in April 2023. TBD on if they reunite again, but neither of them have commented on the split just yet.
