Billy Ray Cyrus may have sang about having an “Achy Breaky Heart” way back in the ’90s, but in our good year 2025, it seems like he might be the perpetrator of one. While he’s been packing on PDA with his new flame, Elizabeth Hurley, the country star’s ex, Firerose, has opened up about their short-lived marriage in a new Instagram post.
Firerose, who reportedly met Billy on the set of Hannah Montana in 2010, decided to take part in the latest trend to take over TikTok and Instagram Reels, where she dropped a bombshell about her ex. She didn’t mention him by name, but featured multiple clips of him set to a mash-up of Fleetwood Mac’s “Silver Spring” and Billy Joel’s “Piano Man.”
“In your 20s, you’ll meet a 49-year-old man who convinces you you’re his soulmate. It is very important you don’t believe him,” she wrote over a photo and video montage featuring the highs and lows of their relationship.
The Australian artist, who was married to Billy for eight months before their divorce was finalized in August 2024, got candid in her lengthy caption, where she came forward with a scathing allegation of what happened during their short-lived relationship.
“If you’ve survived narcissistic abuse, you’re not alone. It’s chilling how similar survivors experiences really are,” she wrote, in part. “Behind closed doors, it’s always the same playbook. Control, isolation, rage, manipulation, walking on eggshells, cognitive dissonance, feeling like the only person in the world that can be experiencing what you are. But I promise, God sees everything and there is a light at the end of the tunnel.”
Her allegations come nearly a year after their divorce was finalized, and the “Ready, Set, Don’t Go” singer has moved on with British actor Elizabeth Hurley, who he met on the set of their movie, Christmas In Paradise, in 2022.
The new couple seems to be going strong, as Elizabeth admitted she was “in love” in a June social media post.
“This year has already been a wild ride; my 30th year of working with the Estée Lauder Companies, my 30th year as the Global Ambassador of the @esteelaudercompanies Breast Cancer Campaign, the 20th anniversary of @elizabethhurleybeach and… I’m in love,” she wrote at the time.
Billy Ray has yet to respond to Firerose’s post— but we’ll keep you posted if he does.
