Kelsea Ballerini isn't having it when it comes to people being rude to her (or others!) during her concerts—and rightfully so.
While performing her break up song, “Penthouse,” during her Sydney, Australia concert on Dec. 6, Kelsea took a moment during the song to personally address an attendee that yelled during her performance of the track. Her exact words? “Fuck off. Team everyone's happy,” she said before giving the middle finger.
You can see the moment in all its glory at the 2:50 mark in this fan-captured video:
Kelsea continued the rest of the song like a pro, but later took to her Instagram Story and told her fans to quit the antics or risk getting the song cut from her live shows altogether.
“Respectfully, if anyone yells anything disrespectful to anyone during this song again, it will no longer be on the setlist,” she captioned her repost of the moment. “Please let this be a song that matters to people and not a place to insert yourself into a world that doesn't exist and was never yours to begin with. Team everyone's happy or bust. Please.”
“Penthouse” was released as part of Kelsea's 2023 EP, Rolling Up the Welcome Mat, which saw her opening up about her divorce from Morgan Evans in 2022. The song—which features gut-wrenching lyrics like “It hurts putting shit in a box/And now we don't talk/And it stings rolling up the welcome mat/Knowing you got half”—might be taking on a new meaning for the country star in light of her recent breakup from Outer Banks star, Chase Stokes.
Kelsea and Chase's relationship ended last month, and according to Us Weekly, their time together was “so rocky and toxic,” with a source adding that “it was too much for Kelsea.”
On Nov. 20, Chase shared a dramatic set of Instagram posts to his Story that read “Don't believe the media. I'm blocked, I did nothing wrong. Sorry. I tried.” He added, “I'm sorry for those who believed in us. It is what it is. Onwards and upwards.”
A source later told the Daily Mail that Chase is reportedly “hoping that the holidays will be a way back in and he is trying to get her back, but she hasn't let him.”
Not sure how Kelsea is feeling about a possible reconciliation, but the source said her friends want her and Chase to be done for good: “Kelsea's friends are crossing their fingers that their breakup is forever. They feel that she is way better off with him not around. He always seemed to stunt everything she did, and though she may have been in love, she wasn't the happy person her friends knew her as when she was around him. With him always being so jealous, it always added a different layer to any group hangout.”
The source added, “I wouldn't count them out for trying again. Currently that is not happening, but if they do, her friends wouldn't agree with it and would like her to stay away.”
