- The King reportedly made an agreement with his brother Andrew when evicting him from Royal Lodge.
- As part of the deal, King Charles allegedly promised that no action would be taken against Andrew’s daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.
- The King also agreed to give Beatrice and Eugenie official roles again—though apparently, Prince William is “strongly opposed” to this.
People were surprised when King Charles invited Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie back into the royal fold so soon after their disgraced father, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, was stripped of his titles and evicted from the Royal Lodge. But apparently, there was a reason for him doing so. According to royal commentator Richard Eden at the Daily Mail, the King made a “secret deal” with the former prince—and it had everything to do with his daughters.
As a reminder: Andrew previously had an “cast-iron” lease allowing him to remain at Royal Lodge until 2078, but under pressure to vacate, he “finally caved”...under the condition that the King would 1) find him a new home on the private royal estates and 2) provide him with financial compensation.
But there was apparently another part of the deal. According to Eden, it was “made clear to Andrew that, while his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson would also lose her title, there would be no action taken against their daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.”
Oh, and in addition to that, the King reportedly agreed to give the princesses “new official royal roles,” which is why Beatrice was recently announced as a new Deputy Patron of Outward Bound (a charity that was a favorite of the late Prince Philip’s).
And while Beatrice and Eugenie seemingly have the King’s support, Rob Shuter’s #ShuterScoop recently reported that Prince William is “strongly opposed” to his cousins being in the spotlight, saying it’s “too soon” and “too risky.” As a source explained, “William wanted the Yorks out of sight until after the King’s next health review. But His Majesty insisted—he thinks the family needs to heal in public.”
Another aide chimed in with, “William’s pragmatic. He knows the Yorks are poison with the public. His father just won’t see it.”
This ^^^ all comes amid speculation that Prince William previously threatened to take away Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice’s titles—but if you recall, a Page Six source shut those rumors down, saying, “I have never heard such nonsense. Anyone who knows William knows he is not that venomous and is fond of his cousins.”
