Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck may have had a whirlwind romance spanning two decades, but the former flames explored other connections in the years between their fateful reunion, which included relationships with pro athlete Alex Rodriguez and former Saturday Night Live producer Lindsay Shookus, respectively.
Now, in an odd twist of fate, Bennifer’s exes Lindsay and ARod just linked up at the NYC premiere of his new documentary, Alex vs. ARod, on Monday, November 3, causing many fans to wonder, “Uh, are Alex Rodriguez and Lindsay Shookus dating?”
What’s more: ARod even posted a behind-the-scenes snap of him posing with Lindsay (who is an executive producer of the doc, by the way) on the red carpet on his Instagram Stories. Lindsay also reposted the photo to her profile.
Ofc, this raised eyebrows given the crossover of their A-list exes—but this isn’t the first time the retired New York Yankee and the TV producer have made headlines. Allow me to give you a little context.
For starters: Ben started dating SNL’s Lindsay in July 2017 following his divorce from Jennifer Garner, but the relationship didn’t last long and they split up in August 2018, with a source telling People he was “never fully committed” to her. (Side note: at least we know Ben is capable of dating someone who isn’t named Jennifer.)
J.Lo and ARod, meanwhile, were first linked in March 2017 and got even engaged—but they ended up calling it quits in March 2021 after their wedding was delayed during the COVID-19 pandemic.
By April of that year, J.Lo had rekindled her romance with her Gigli co-star...and a few months later in June, Lindsay and ARod sparked dating rumors when Alex was spotted at her birthday party in the Hamptons.
One of Alex’s reps shut down romance rumors with Lindsay at the time, telling People that they “have been friends for 15 years. There is nothing there at all.”
Duly noted! But we still can’t help but wonder if these two have chatted about the Bennifer of it all since their split...
