If you need me, don't, because I'm busy calling out "sick" and listening to Lily Allen's new album on repeat.
West End Girl chronicles the end of Lily's relationship with Stranger Things star David "HOW DARE YOU!!!" Harbour, and comes 8 months after news of their split broke—though Lily wrote the record in 10 days back in December (almost a year ago). West End Girl is the first public confirmation that Lily and David's relationship is over, but it's unclear if they've actually completed the divorce process yet. And if you're wondering whether they have a prenup and what financials everyone's bringing to the table...here's what we know!
Their Brooklyn Brownstone Is Worth a Fortune
Lily talks about buying the property on the titular song from her album, singing "Now I'm looking at houses with four or five floors / And you've found us a brownstone, said 'You want it? It's yours' / So we went ahead and we bought it / Found ourselves a good mortgage / Billy Cotton got sorted / All the furniture ordered / I could never afford this."
Lily and David purchased the home for around $3 million, and just listed it for almost $8 million, so they're making a pretty massive profit. Unclear how said profit will be divided, but!
Their Prenup Details Are Unknown
Per the Daily Mail, "It's not known if there was a prenuptial agreement between them, but the former couple will be sitting down with their legal teams to figure out how they'll be dividing their assets."
This obviously implies that Lily and David aren't actually legally divorced yet.
Lily's Financial Situation Has Been Up and Down
She recently told Perfect magazine, "Contrary to popular belief, my parents have not been bankrolling my life since I was 17 or 18 years old. A year and a half ago, I was financially stable and I didn't have to think about work. And now I do. And this is what I do to earn money. I have two children to support. This is all I know how to do. I’m not going to train to be a lawyer now. It’s a bit late for that."
Meanwhile, Lily confirmed on her podcast, Miss Me?, that she had to sell her Cotswolds home.
"I had a beautiful house, which was my house of dreams in the countryside. And, I did it up so nice, and it was like my life project, I was very proud of it, it was the place where I was going to raise my children. And, I was always good with my tax, I'm a big firm believer in paying tax and I think people in a higher earning bracket should absolutely pay as much tax as they possibly can."
She continued, "But anyway, I have always put money aside to pay for my tax. What happened was, I got sued by somebody, for an extremely large amount of money, which I hadn't accounted for. I had to pay him off, with the money I had put aside for my tax. And then when my tax bill came along, I tried to work out a deal with HMRC in which I can pay them back in installments. Which I would have been able to do, but they said no so, I had to put my house on the market."
Lily's Total Net Worth, You Ask?
According to Celebrity Net Worth, it's $2 million—which is poised to increase thanks to the monumental success of West End Girl and her upcoming tour. Meanwhile David Harbor has a net worth of $6 million. In other words, they'll have a lot to discuss during divorce proceedings!
