- Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie are retaining their "Princess" titles.
- King Charles just stripped his brother Andrew of his "Prince" title.
- Andrew will now go by Andrew Mountbatten Windsor.
Andrew Mountbatten Windsor is no longer allowed to go by "Prince Andrew" after being stripped of his titles by King Charles, but it looks like his daughters—Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie—will get to retain theirs.
A Daily Mail source says Charles wants to "protect" his nieces and "wouldn't have wanted to sign off on anything that would impact them."
In case you missed the statement from Buckingham Palace, they wrote the following message:
"His Majesty has today initiated a formal process to remove the Style, Titles and Honours of Prince Andrew. Prince Andrew will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor. His lease on Royal Lodge has, to date, provided him with legal protection to continue in residence. Formal notice has now been served to surrender the lease and he will move to alternative private accommodation. These censures are deemed necessary, not withstanding the fact that he continues to deny the allegations against him. Their Majesties wish to make clear that their thoughts and utmost sympathies have been, and will remain with, the victims and survivors of any and all forms of abuse."
There had previously been speculation that Prince William had threatened Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie with the removal of their titles if they didn't get their dad to give up the Royal Lodge. This was denied by a source who told Page Six, "I have never heard such nonsense. Anyone who knows William knows he is not that venomous and is fond of his cousins."
