It’s tradition for Love Is Blind reunions to include some of the singles who never made it out of the pods. After all, that’s where some of the juiciest drama begins. But still, fans are wondering why Kait Nemunaitis is going to the Love Is Blind season 9 reunion.
Kait’s reunion attendance was confirmed Thursday, October 23, when the cast portraits for the special were revealed, and it immediately got fans talking, especially because she’s the only cast member going to the reunion who didn’t get engaged at the end of the pod experiment. So why is she getting the coveted spot over, say, Mike Brockway, who fans definitely still have questions about? I've got a few theories.
Theory 1: Kait Will Be There to Talk About Nick Amato
Based on the trailer for the reunion, it looks like Kait will be there mostly to expose Nick Amato, her strongest connection in the pods. “It felt like you went into ChatGPT and, like, looked up how to get a girl to fall for you,” she says in the clip.
In case you forgot, Kait was caught in the middle of one of season 9’s most dramatic love triangles with Nick and Annie Lancaster. Fans watched as Nick make similar declarations of love to both Kait and Annie—a big Love Is Blind no-no—so I’m guessing she and Annie will have a lot to talk about.
Theory 2: Kait Will Be There to Defend Joe Ferruci and His New Girlfriend
Kait’s presence was also likely required due to her close friendship with Madison Maidenberg. Madison got engaged to Joe Ferrucci in the pods, but he called things off before the wedding day. Today, nearly two years later, Joe has a new girlfriend, Averee Madison...who also just so happens to be close friends with Kait (as Averee revealed on the Reality Receipts podcast).
So, not only will Kait be there to talk about what really went down with Nick—she’ll (hopefully) have something to say about how Joe treated Madison compared to how he treats his new girlfriend. We love a girl’s girl!
Theory 3: Kait Dated Someone Outside the Pods
It’s not unusual for pod people to date after a season. Or, at the very least, hook up. And it sounds like this Denver cast has gotten pretty close since filming, so the idea that she might have dated a fellow cast member after the fact is highly probable. Maybe she’s been waiting for the reunion to spill the tea. Regardless, I will be seated.
