We’re gonna keep things short and sweet here since we know you’re reading this story for one thing and one thing only: Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s dating deets.
Luckily, we dusted off our best Sherlock Holmes ’fits and texted our sports-loving situationships (for research purposes only, we promise!) to give you all the intel on how this whole sitch started and where Taylor and Travis stand now. Spoiler alert: They’re engaged (!!!!).
July 2023
Things kick off with Taylor performing at Kansas City’s Arrowhead Stadium, and it’s an absolutely flawless show, as per usual. 10/10, no notes!
Later in the month, during an episode of his New Heights podcast (which he cohosts with his brother, Jason Kelce), Travis mentions that he had recently gone to a Taylor concert and written his number on a friendship bracelet to give to her (big, big win for the Swifties), but—alas—he wasn’t able to shoot his shot.
“If you’re up on Taylor Swift concerts, there are friendship bracelets, and I received a bunch of them being there, but I wanted to give Taylor Swift one with my number on it,” the Kansas City Chiefs tight end reveals on the show.
“I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings,” he adds, confessing that he was “a little butt-hurt” that he couldn’t chat with her. “She doesn’t meet anybody—or at least she didn’t want to meet me, so I took it personal,” he jokes. In-ter-est-ing!

Taylor and Travis are reportedly in the “talking” phase of their ’ship but are still being v ~casual~ (read: not officially dating) about the whole thing given their hectic schedules, per a source who speaks with Entertainment Tonight. Additionally, yet another insider confesses to the outlet that, “Travis has been into Taylor for a while and definitely has a crush on her. He is a simple guy that is very funny, charismatic, chill, and loves playing football.”
Taylor also causes quiiiiite the stir after she’s spotted in New York wearing a necklace with Kelce’s birthstone—an opal—on it. And although the whole thing could totally be chalked up to sheer coincidence, no one loves an Easter egg more than Swifties!
By the end of the month, Taylor attends one of Travis’s game. At Arrowhead. And sits next to his mom!!!!!!
Meanwhile, a source tells People, “Taylor is very focused on work right now and hanging out with her girlfriends. Travis invited her to the game, and of course she said yes. She just thought it was a fantastic way to spend Sunday.”

Another Sunday, another Taylor sighting at MetLife Stadium during Travis’s Kansas City Chiefs games—this time against the New York Jets. And not to be dramatic, but a lot goes down. Like, Tay shows up with a star-studded entourage consisting of Blake Lively, Sabrina Carpenter, Ryan Reynolds, Sophie Turner, Antoni Porowski, and Hugh Jackman; is spotted with her arm sweetly wrapped about Travis’s mom, Donna Kelce, in a truly 🥺 moment; is caught potentially whispering “look at him” (presumably about the footballer) to BFF Blake; and rocks a truly gorgeous pair of denim shorts that we want ASAP.

Taylor and Travis have a PDA moment in NYC after they both show up for surprise appearances on SNL! Pls see for yourself:
A source tells People that the pair was “so smiley” and “so happy” at SNL’s after-party, adding, “They were so talkative. They were really fun. They talked to every single person in the room that talked to them. They were super cool. Super nice, super happy.”
Oh, AND a source tells Entertainment Tonight, “At one point, he actually told her security guard that he could step aside, like he’d take it from here.”
Soon after, they go out for yet another date night, looking positively obsessed with each other.
A source tells People that “Taylor is unlike anyone Travis has dated before. It was very unexpected for his friends, but he’s so into her and very, very happy. Some people thought he was just joking around about the bracelet and having a crush on her earlier this summer, but he was serious about it.”
November 2023
Travis touches down in Argentina to visit Taylor while she’s on the international leg of her tour, and they’re spotted grabbing dinner hand-in-hand.
The next day, Travis attends Taylor’s show and SO MUCH HAPPENS. Not only does she change the “Karma” lyrics to “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs...”

Later in the month, during his cover story with WSJ Mag, Travis gushes that he’s “never dated anyone” with an “aura” like Taylor’s. He also reveals that they share similar values and calls her “a genius” who’s “hilarious.”

Taylor is named TIME’s Person of the Year, and she opened up about her ’ship with Travis—including when they officially started dating.
“This all started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell,” she told the outlet. “We started hanging out right after that. So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other. By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple. I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.”
She went on to explain that they have nothing to hide when it comes to their ’ship. “When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care,” she said. “The opposite of that is you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you’re seeing someone. And we’re just proud of each other.”

Meanwhile, Travis reveals that he’d known Taylor for “close to a month” before she attended her first Chiefs game, explaining, “We had known each other for close to a month up to that point. It wasn’t just an out-of-the-blue ‘Hey, come to the game.’”
He then added, “It’s a beautiful thing, isn’t it? Hopefully everybody realizes that we’re two people in a relationship supporting each other and having fun with it, man. It’s nothing more than that. As much as the world wants to paint the picture and make us the enemy, we just have fun with it, and we enjoy every single bit of it. A source tells Entertainment Tonight, “Taylor and Travis are soaking up their downtime together. They are appreciating the here and now and the love they share with one other. When they’re able to just chill out, they love to hang out with their friends and family, travel, see new things together, and enjoy their privacy. They are grateful to have each other along for the ride and advocate and support each other across the board.”
They add that the couple is “enjoying this moment” and also “looking forward to what the future holds too. They want to continue to grow together and be happy and healthy. Their friends and family are still as supportive as ever.”

Aaaand Tay HARD hard-launches her ’ship with Travis when she thanks her London crowd in an Instagram post. “Wembley Stadium round one was so surreal. Looking out into crowds of 90,000 fans each night and hearing that VOLUME… Those were some of the loudest crowds I’ve ever heard,” she writes in part. She later alluded to Trav, writing, “I’m still cracking up/swooning over @killatrav’s Eras Tour debut 🥰.” SWOONING!

During one of Taylor’s Eras Tour stops in Amsterdam, she performed an adorable mashup of songs that seemingly nod to her relationship with Travis. For starters, she brought out a deep cut from her debut album, “Mary’s Song,” which includes the lyrics “I’ll be 87, you’ll be 89.” Aka...Travis’s number and the year they were both born in, 1989.
Along with “Mary’s Song,” Taylor also sang “So High School” and one of her famous Ed Sheeran collabs, “Everything Has Changed.” The sweet gesture even made Travis tear up, which prompted Brittany Mahomes to check on him.

A source tells Entertainment Tonight that “Taylor and Travis always prioritize each other even when they are physically apart. They are still in constant communication texting and FaceTiming each other.”
Apparently they’re “very affectionate with each other even when they’re apart” and “Travis sends Taylor flowers and loves to shower her with surprise gifts and tokens of gratitude. Their connection is unlike anything that they’ve ever experienced before.”

After the internet starts spiraling once an alleged media plan outlining Travis’s supposed publicity strategy in the event of a breakup with Tay leaks, the athlete fully goes into debunk mode.
“These documents are entirely false and fabricated and were not created, issued, or authorized by this agency,” notes a spokesperson for Full Scope Public Relations, which represents Trav. “We have engaged our legal team to initiate proceedings against the individuals or entities responsible for the unlawful and injurious forgery of documents.”
Soon after, Tay and Trav attend the US Open!
Plus, an Us Weekly source says Tay and Trav are having “serious conversations” about their future and that “Taylor has expressed how excited she is to settle down after her tour concludes. They’re on the same page.”
Another source says “They both see marriage as something they want sooner rather than later, and they both want kids. Taylor has always [been excited by] the idea of marriage and starting a family. She just hadn’t found The One until now.”

The couple is set to spend the holidays together, according to a report from Us Weekly. “They’re spending as much time together as possible while balancing their careers and individual responsibilities—his game and her music empire, along with personal projects,” a source tells the outlet, adding that when Tay wraps the Eras Tour in December, she and Travis are “looking forward to spending the holidays together.”

Afterwards, Travis reveals why he randomly pulled up to Taylor's Indy show on an episode of New Heights. “I wanted to see Tay one more time before this thing got closed up,” he says. “I’ll tell you what, man. The American crowds, they did not disappoint. I heard that it was a lot more rowdy this time around, knowing she was coming back to stop through America one last time before the tour was over with, and I’ll tell you what, man, that thing was rocking. Absolutely rocking.”

Taylor officially wraps the Eras Tour on December 8, and Travis gives her major props during the latest episode of New Heights. “Shout out to Tay, and the unbelievable Eras tour has finally come to an end,” he says. “Shout out to everybody that was a part of that show. Obviously, it's her music, her tour and everything, but that was a full production, man."
Travis even throws an Eras Tour-themed surprise party for Taylor with some of his Chiefs teammates, including Tay's longtime bestie Ashley Avignone, the Haim sisters, Austin Mahomes, and Brittany Mahomes. The party is super cute, complete with outfits and decorations inspired by Taylor's massive tour.

Travis reveals his ideal wedding date during a new episode of New Heights when a fan called in to say his girlfriend wants to get married in the fall—aka football season.
“I actually don’t know people who’ve gotten married in the fall, because the all the weddings I’ve been to — my friends always do it in the summer,” Travis says, adding, “You guys gotta be more in sync on things. You gotta be willing to, you know, find a weekend where the team isn’t playing anybody good.”
He adds that he’s “seen weddings in fucking February, I’ve seen weddings everywhere, but the fall… I’m not so sure if the fall is a good wedding season.”

Not long after, she pulls up to the Super Bowl to support Travis and the Chiefs.
And after that, the pair goes on a secret romantic getaway. An insider tells Page Six that “Taylor and Travis had a really nice time reconnecting after a very busy year.”

Tay and Trav have a low-key dinner outing in Park City, Utah. This is the first time they’ve been spotted together since the Super Bowl.

The pair is soaking in every moment of their downtime together since it’s Travis’s off-season and Taylor is no longer on tour. A source tells Page Six, “They like to cuddle on the couch and watch movies, play board games, spend time with family, cook dinner together and just hang out. This is such a nice escape for them to finally be able to stay out of the limelight for a bit before they eventually have to get out in the public eye again due to their careers. This time away from the spotlight has been so refreshing for Taylor and Travis. They really cherish this time while they can because they know it can’t last forever.”
That’s not all—a second source tells the Daily Mail that the couple doesn’t “have to be the center of attention anymore” and will continue to keep things low-key between them. Amid rumors that this is Trav’s final season with the Kansas City Chiefs, the source adds, “he wants to go all in, and Taylor is all about it.”
“Travis is going all in for this season and the only thing that could derail him would be injury,” they continue. “Losing the Super Bowl was a major blow, as he wants to be someone that can have it all and one who can handle having it all.”

But yeah—right now is that it’s going to be in Rhode Island at [Taylor’s] mansion. He wants a big blowout with everyone he loves, but he did say that he has to run it by her.
