Taylena Hive, rise! Selena Gomez just congratulated her longtime bestie, Taylor Swift, on her new album, The Life of a Showgirl, with the sweetest Instagram post. The “Love You Like a Love Song” singer posted a carousel, featuring a clip from her wedding day, on Monday, October 6.
“In honor of SHOWGIRL .. blessed to have you by my side almost 20 years later gator! I love you @taylorswift forever and always,” Sel captioned the post, alluding to her Fearless track of the same name.
In the video, Taylor records Selena as she gets ready for her nuptials with Benny Blanco and fully gushes about her bridal glam. “Are you even serious right now?” Taylor said, as she zoomed in to Selena’s soft makeup in a mirror, which revealed her own floral-embellished champagne gown and classic red lip.
“What? Look at her, oh my God,” the Grammy winner continued, to which Sel replied, “I’m so happy, I’m getting married! Finally!”
Elsewhere in her post, Sel also dropped two photos with Taylor from her wedding celebrations. One seems to be taken in the same room, while the other sees them in different looks, including a black dress and a sparkling white long-sleeved dress.
Sel closed out her photo dump with a screenshot of Taylor’s lead single, “The Fate of Ophelia,” on Apple Music. The sweet gesture comes 16 years after the best friends exchanged thoughts about love on social media when they were 17 and 19.
“Discussing love with two 9 yr olds. That's what love supposed to be. Truly amazing, I'm never leaving Canada,” Selena wrote at the time, with Taylor chiming in, “Real love still happens sometimes. It's not just something we make up when we're nine. I have to believe that. You do too.”
Now, our girls are in love and getting married. We love to see it!
