- Jennifer Lopez recently posted a mirror selfie on Instagram wearing a gold necklace that fans thought read “Bennifer,” sparking confusion.
- The post came shortly after J.Lo’s CBS Sunday Morning interview, where she opened up about her divorce from Ben Affleck.
- During the interview, Jennifer referred to the divorce as “the best thing that ever happened to me because it changed me.”
Jennifer Lopez is no stranger to sharing a 🔥 selfie with fans on Instagram...but her latest one has fans more confused than anything. Posted on September 28, the first photo in the carousel shows J.Lo looking gorge in a purple sweater and gold nameplate necklace—and though it’s a little tricky to tell in the mirror reflection, the jewelry seemingly reads “Bennifer” (aka the portmanteau given to herself and her ex, Ben Affleck) rather than her name.
As one fan wrote: “Her necklace says Bennifer?? Or do I need glasses 👓?” And another: “Are we not talking about her necklace?”
However! If you flip the image and zoom in, you’ll see that the necklace does, in fact, read Jennifer—which, of course, makes a lot more sense than the alternative.
The photo was shared not long after J.Lo’s appearance on CBS Sunday Morning, where she provided some very rare insight into her divorce from Ben (who, btw, serves as an executive producer on the singer’s upcoming film, Kiss of the Spider Woman).
To reporter Lee Cowan, Jennifer said of Ben, “The movie wouldn’t have been made if it wasn’t for him and Artists Equity. I will always give him that credit.”
That said, she noted that filming alongside her ex was “the best and the worst of times,” adding, “But you get through it and, you know, honestly, I have to say, it was the best thing that ever happened to me because it changed me. It helped me grow in a way that I needed to grow…[and] become more self-aware. I’m a different person now than I was last year.”
She continued, “This summer was probably the best summer I’ve ever had. I’m able to enjoy things more. I realized that joy is in living…and really embracing life and everything that it brings to you. The hard times are the lessons and you have to understand that. I feel like, if that [the divorce] hadn’t happened, I wouldn’t understand that.”
