Time to Review Hannah Einbinder’s Dating History Now That She’s (Reportedly) Seeing a “Prominent Journalist”

If you watched Hacks, then you know Ava Daniels is an open book...but the actor who plays her, Hannah Einbinder, is far more tight-lipped about her personal life. Although Hannah publicly identifies as bisexual, she’s never actually talked about who she’s dating. She has, however, spoken about how it feels to play a bisexual character—and if you’re wondering, Ava was always intended to be queer.

“She was always queer,” Hannah told Variety in June 2022 when asked whether Ava’s sexuality was changed after she was cast. “It was in the character breakdown, which I was so relieved to see, because it was the first bi woman I had ever had an audition for.”

Despite not revealing much about her romantic partners, the actor has seemingly soft-launched a few relationships on the red carpet (including a romance with the actor/comedian who is now reportedly dating Anna Kendrick). Hannah is currently rumored to be dating a “prominent journalist” (per a DeuxMoi tipster) so let’s take a walk through her dating history, shall we?

For the record, it’s unclear whether Hannah and producer Phoebe Mandel ever dated. However! Phoebe did accompany Hannah to a number of events between 2021 and 2022, including the 27th Annual Critics Choice Awards, the 2022 Film Independent Spirit Awards, and the 2021 Women in Film’s Annual Award Ceremony, where Phoebe and Hannah made their debut and were *very* much giving couple. And in an Instagram post from that same event, Hannah referred to Phoebe as her “eternal + 1” and her “bff,” so do with that info what you will!

The maybe-relationship was seemingly short-lived, however, because by May 2022, Hannah was romantically linked to someone new. That said, Hannah did include a photo of herself and Phoebe in an Instagram carousel in April 2024:

Oh, and in an August 2025 interview with the Los Angeles Times, Hannah referred to her “best friend Phoebe”—plus, she brought Phoebe as her date to the 2025 Emmys (where Hannah brought home the award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series!!):

So either these two are on great terms or were only ever friends.

Hannah first sparked dating rumors with comedian Alex Edelman when she brought him as her date to the season 2 premiere of Hacks, and the two dated for just about a year before going their separate ways.

Alex later confirmed their breakup in an interview with The New York Times, which was published in June 2023 and stated that he and Hannah “broke up a month ago.”

Most recently, Hannah has been linked to NYC-based journalist Jasper Nathaniel, who’s risen to prominence thanks to his extensive coverage of Israel’s occupation of the West Bank—which makes sense, given how vocal the Hacks actor has been in her support for Palestine!

In May 2026, a DeuxMoi tipster broke the news of the rumored relationship, saying the two were “spotted canoodling in NYC this week,” adding, “Confirmed with multiple people. They’re an item.”
