He may have taken her for nearly £200,000, but Cecilie Fjellhøy was not going to let Simon Leviev, better known as “the Tinder Swindler,” win.
Having shared her story of love, lies and larceny in Netflix’s hit 2022 documentary The Tinder Swindler, Cecilie was trolled and belittled by those who made light of her plight. However, she also had scores of other women who reached out and said that they’d been through a similar experience.
Determined to prevent more women being conned out of their money by bad actors, Cecilie has now teamed up with private investigator Brianne Joseph for their new series Love Con Revenge, which sees the pair confront men who have swindled vulnerable women out of huge sums of money.
In the series, we see Cecilie reference her time with Simon and the lessons she learned around romance scamming.
But what is the infamous conman doing now? Well, Cosmopolitan UK did some digging, and here's what we found.
What is Simon Leviev, aka The Tinder Swindler, doing now?
Considering it is thought he defrauded $10 million from his victims, Simon (real name Shimon Hayut) was only sentenced to 15 months of prison time in his home country of Israel, as well as being ordered to pay his victims around $43,289 in compensation in addition to a fine of around $5,771 for having a false passport. However, as coronavirus hit in 2020, Simon only served five months of his prison sentence—prison populations were reduced in order to prevent the spread of the virus.
He reportedly made headlines again in 2020 for pretending to be a healthcare worker in a bid to receive early access to the Covid-19 vaccine.
When The Tinder Swindler was released on Netflix in 2022, Simon was dismissive of the documentary series. In an interview with Inside Edition, he claimed: “I was just a single guy that wanted to meet some girls on Tinder. I am not a Tinder Swindler.”
He continues that the Netflix series was presented “as a documentary…in truth [but] it’s like a complete[ly] made-up movie. I am the biggest gentleman in the world. They call me the Tinder Swindler. I am not a fraud and I am not a fake. People don’t know me so they can’t judge me.”
However, it did briefly look as if he wanted to cash in on his new found international infamy. In 2022, TMZ reported that Simon had signed with LA-based manager Gina Rodriguez in a bid to forge an entertainment career. As well as having a Cameo account (which has since been deleted), he reportedly wanted to create his own dating show. He also reportedly wanted to host an advice show where he shared relationship dos and don'ts. Thankfully, neither of these shows have come to fruition.
Simon has also expressed interest in creating a TV show about his life, as well as writing his life story. While it has been reported he has written an autobiography (creatively titled ‘I Am Simon Leviev’), it doesn’t appear to be available anywhere online.
In 2025, he launched his own crypto-currency, titled TIND.
Does Simon Leviev have a girlfriend now?
In 2022, when The Tinder Swindler was released, Simon’s then girlfriend, Israeli model Kate Konlin, defended him. However, the pair have since split up. In an interview with the BBC in 2023 Kate alleged that their relationship was abusive, which Simon has emphatically denied.
Following the release of The Tinder Swindler, Leviev was also permanently banned from Tinder. It is thought he now lives in Dubai.
