Kim Kardashian has sparked a few debates by merely existing over the course of her nearly 20-year career. However, after appearing as a guest on Kai Cenat’s Mafiathon 3 live stream on September 1, she has the internet divided over an entirely new topic: homework.

When Kai started ranting about kids wanting to follow in his footsteps by becoming video game streamers, he got heated as he suggested they focus on their studies and “do their goddamned homework” before hopping online for a game.

The SKIMS founder then countered his point, saying, “I don’t believe in homework,” to which one of his friends and fellow Twitch streamer RaKai responded, “Clock that tea!”

“Kids are in school for eight hours a day. When they come home, they need to also do sports, have a life, spend time with their family,” Kim (who shares children North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm, with her ex, Kanye West) added.

The Kardashians star has caused quite a divide online, as some fans agreed with her POV and others went against it, agreeing with Kai.

“As a teacher who has to deal with 12-year-olds, that can’t read and write, they need homework! And the parents need to be right there, making sure it gets done which gives them the individualized one on one help that they can’t receive during school,” one user wrote under an Instagram post recapping the news.

“And her way of thinking is why y’all born after 2000 can’t write in cursive, read, spell & everything else,”another chimed in, noting that Kim’s anti-homework stance has generally increased in the education system over the years.

Some people in the comments section of the clip even pointed out how some schools don’t even assign homework. “My son’s school district doesn't allow homework either which is cool, he can come home get a snack go outside have fun, and be a kid,” someone wrote. “School is like a child’s job, and the same reason why an adult doesn’t take their job home, neither should a child bring school home.”

“I don’t believe in homework for kids either,” another person added. “I don’t want children to think it’s okay to bring work home when they get older. The few hours after school they have is FREE time.”

Kim has yet to respond to the debate she sparked, so...stayed tuned.
